Lachi 1 Posted January 5, 2014 Hej fellow Rogue Traders! I am just preparing the 'Into the Maw' Adventure found in the RT Rulebook and encountered an inconsistency. In the adventure the System Magoros is located in Winterscale's Realm while on the Map on pages 338-339 (and any other Map I've found) it is in the Foundling Worlds. So the question would be: Is the map or the adventure wrong? Where is Magors actually located? Thanks, Lachi
CaptainRemiVandigrath 201 Posted January 5, 2014 Yes? I actually never figured this one out either. Personally I think they're both equally correct (i.e. typical FFG editing) and I picked the one that was most convenient for what I was doing, placing it in Winterscale's Realm. If you want a fluff reason for it, maybe people don't actually know where it is, which seems likely given the system's background, so it's mentioned as being all over the Expanse. 2 Kshatriya and Erathia reacted to this
Erathia 648 Posted January 5, 2014 I agree with CaptainRemi completely on all points, except that I chose to place it in the Foundling Worlds, because I wanted to do Magoros early, and felt that dealing with Winterscale and Chorda should be a later career endeavour. I based my campaign's map off of sketchesofpayne's RT map found here, which I updated into having more systems here. Note that I haven't updated mine since Faith and Coin came out, so there's a bunch of canon systems that do not appear in that map.
Lachi 1 Posted January 5, 2014 Thanks...As Erathia did, I eventually placed it in the Foundling Worlds because it seems to me that this is the less well explored region and therefore well suited for a system like Magoros...

Sebastian Yorke 191 Posted January 6, 2014 Magoros is an Egarian planet, so I left it in Winterscale Realm - where the Egarian Dominion is.
Lachi 1 Posted January 7, 2014 So maby I will simply leave the System Magoros as it is in the Foundling Worlds and agrue that there is another Magoros as part of the (former) Egarian Dominion... 1 Tenebrae reacted to this
Erathia 648 Posted January 7, 2014 My campaign explanation is that Magoros has some Egarian ruins, which means when it was initially classified people put it in Winterscale's Domain. Some Xeno-archaeologists then never bothered to issue a "formal" correction because this is clearly a rare development, and bogging down a classification will allow them more time to explore the ruins and figure out how the species spread this far in the Expanse. Of course they all mysteriously vanished, but them's the breaks.
Sebastian Yorke 191 Posted January 10, 2014 I think Magoros is like "Ilos" in Mass Effect 1, the Egarians' desperate scientific last stand against a Tyranid invasion. That explains their planets biosphere. And the prospect of thinking where the tyranids would have gone after getting them extinct is actually terrifying. (Yu'Vath defeated them? banned them into a warped dimension? the original owners of Naduesh did it instead perhaps?)
