Poltergeist and small bridges

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I've been playing Talisman Digital Edition, and the Poltergeist was discarded after I crossed from the Village to the Fields via the small bridge. I thought this was a bug, but I searched Talisman forums and found out this was an official ruling.

The text on the card says you can discard the Poltergeist after you cross the Storm River "by bridge, raft, or ferry," so the small bridges make literal sense. However, considering those are the three main methods to cross to the Middle Region, I always assumed that you had to cross the river to the Middle Region to discard the Poltergeist (i.e. the only allowed "bridge" was at the Sentinel.)

However, this clarification is not in the official FAQ!

So my question doesn't relate to this rule specifically, but I'm wondering if there is a comprehensive source that compiles the list of rules people discovered by communication with FFG? This was an important rule and I've been playing the physical board game wrong for a long time regarding the Poltergeist! I can only imagine what else I've been doing wrong.

Thank you!

PS: I did see a wonderful "Unofficial FAQ" on the Board Game Geek file section, but it didn't include this rule, so there might be an updated one somewhere.

Well there are 3 bridges over the Storm River after all. We have always played the board game like this. Why did you think that they wouldn't count?!

Ell.

They are tiny... I always thought they were decoration. :P

But more importantly, "bridge, raft, ferry..." I thought, "Oh, so all the ways to cross the middle region..." I didn't even think to look at the board decorations that closely!

I have to admit it was a really cool discovery though.

I think this includes many people, including me! Although my group knew about putting creatures together for battle in 4th edition, they didn't know about this for 2nd! And I emailed my group recently about the monk, we had been adding all craft all these years. Also recently learned that the Temple is a must in 4th edition while 2nd its a may.

In my group, I do the most online research and the most game exploration.
