DagobahDave 1,621 Posted November 25, 2013 COMING SOON! THE UNOFFICIAL X-WING GALACTIC CAMPAIGNThe war for the fate of the galaxy must be fought sector by sector, planet by planet. The Unofficial X-Wing Galactic Campaign (UXGC) provides players around the world with a way to strategize and propel their favorite faction to overall victory.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *CAMPAIGN RULESJoining the campaign is easy. Whenever you play a game of X-Wing, you and your opponent choose a system to fight over. (See the game map. Each hex represents a system.) You may choose to fight over any system, even if it is wholly owned by either faction. If the players can't agree which system to fight for, flip a coin and the winner decides.Large Campaign Map: http://www.outworld-studio.com/xwing/jpg/uxgc-s01w01.jpgPlay any scenario you like, as long as both players (or teams) agree that the conditions are fair for both sides. The standard 100-point dogfight is fine, but there are many other possibilities. When a winner has been determined, use the report form (at the bottom of this post) and submit your results. You can submit your results in any of the UXGC threads and forums around the internet, or by email. You only need to report your results in one of these locations. Duplicates and incomplete forms will be disregarded.Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1412481002321835/ FFG forum thread: http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/94034-unofficial-x-wing-galactic-campaign/ Board Game Geek forum thread: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1076400/unofficial-x-wing-galactic-campaign A Few Maneuvers forum thread: http://www.afewmaneuvers.com/topic/1941-unofficial-x-wing-galactic-campaign/ Email: luminousbeings@yahoo.comThis campaign is scheduled to run for 4 weeks. At the end of that time, the overall faction will be determined. Results will be calculated and the map updated on a weekly basis. A faction's score is based on the total value of connected systems under its control. That is, your faction only scores points if it controls two or more systems connected by a spacelane. Each sector has a value (from 1 to 3) that indicates its strategic importance, and the difficulty of winning control of that system (or winning it back). There's no limit to the number of battle reports you may submit. If you play multiple battles with the same players, squads and scenarios, you may make a single report showing the total number of wins per faction (example: "2 Imperial wins, 1 Rebel win").Tournaments and other gatherings are a great way to quickly rack up a lot of battles in this epic conflict. Event organizers are encouraged to take part in the UXGC or adapt the idea for their own use.If you have any questions or suggestions about ways to improve the campaign, this is a good time to sort those things out before the campaign begins on December 1st, 2013. This would also be a good time to "register" your interest. Thanks for checking it out!Dave (DagobahDave)* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *UXGC BATTLE REPORT FORMSYSTEM: [Name of system being fought over]WINNER: [Rebel or Imperial]DATE PLAYED: [Year-Month-Day]REBEL PLAYER(s): [Player name or handle]REBEL SQUAD LIST(s): IMPERIAL PLAYER(s): [Player name or handle]IMPERIAL SQUAD LIST(s): BATTLE REPORT (OPTIONAL): [Describe the battle in as much detail as you like. Game was dominated by incredible good defensive rolls for the Interceptors. Lost only 1 machine in the fight, another one was down to 1 hull, everything else was as new. Game started with a lot of caution on both sides, the game area was kinda setup like an arena with the asteroids at the very edges of their placement area - not intended, we both just didn't want too much crap in the way with lists like that. Our squads started diagonally opposite , outside the asteroid arena. I kept a nice formation and used the first two turns to get all 5 as one pack facing the middle of the arena. He kinda split his forces, sending the As very fast across the arena (to flank or get into my back, I don't know) while the X banked in to meet the Ints. 3rd turn saw the first exchange of attacks. Every ships fired, most at range 3. All Ints had evade tokens on them, so the round ended with one shield blown off from one X-Wing. Then the dance started, everything went wild with boosts and barrel rolls all over the place, me trying to stay away from him as good as possible to keep my actions while at the same time placing me in some nice spots to rob him of his actions. All Ints not doing fancy action moves got evade again. He managed to place one A on an Asteroid (one of the flankers), but no damage (he got some more Asteroid meeting during the game, always without damage). The most spectacular scene was a single Int that managed to be in the Fire arc of 2 X (one at range 1) and one A Wing. Stealth Device and Evade Token got him through there unharmed - and a lot of nice rolls of course. I managed to strip one X of his shields, and also removed a shield from one A. The next few turns were mostly repetitions. I avoided the usual jousting as I didn't see how I could win that. Instead I used a lot of 1 and 2 Turns combined with barrel rolls and boosts to get his ships into my fire arc while trying to stay out of his. He was more the traditional type, with some K Turns (useful ones though). I managed to destroy one A and one X in turn 5, with a lot of firepower at range 1 concentrated on the X. He got one of my Ints at turn 6. Turn 8 saw the next X going down, the other down to zero shields, and the last A Wing reduced to one hull. With only his X left to fight next turn - the A Wing was facing the wrong direction in the center of the arena with at least 2 Ints able to get him into their arc next turn and very limited movement due to close by asteroids on one side - and 2 Ints closing on that X Wing (they just destroyed his buddy X), and all those machines but one healthy he decided to surrender (its also pretty late around here, time to get some sleep if you have to work next day... that might have been a deciding factor on his side too, game looking bad and past bedtime). Today he was unable to get through my defense dice shield I never saw that many successes rolled on defense dice for a single ship, always at least 2, 3 when needed and even 4 once (not needed as the attack were only 2 hits). And always an evade hovering around to save the day. I like that tactic, will try it out some more to see if it works on regular basis.

The game was played on a 6x4 table with each player starting on a corner or long edge. The game lasted around three hours and was neck and neck until the very end. Lucky shots from Luke and Tycho finished boba fett, leaving the two rebels to fight vader. Luke was able to recover a shield point or two while they whittled vader down to a finish. DagobahDave 1,621 Posted December 4, 2013 Phase 1 is nearly complete! We're going to start Phase 2 on December 4th, and try to stick to a phase-a-week schedule. New Feature - Spacelane Values: You'll notice that some spacelanes now have a number value. If your faction controls the sectors on both sides of a spacelane, its value is added to your faction's score. New Feature - Fleets: To indicate that your faction has an excess of net wins in a sector (that is, you have more net wins than necessary to capture the sector) a fleet marker will be placed there. Fleet markers are removed when your faction loses control of the sector, and each of your fleet markers on the map adds 1 to your faction's score. DagobahDave 1,621 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) WAR REPORT Season 1 / Phase 2 Start As the first week of the campaign comes to an end, skirmishes across the galaxy prove that the spirit of rebellion is strong. Phase 1 Final Map: http://www.outworld-studio.com/xwing/jpg/uxgc-s01w01.jpg Rebel forces are gaining momentum along the Corellian trade routes, with fleet actions reported near Elrood and Sullust. Along the Perlemian routes, Alliance forces have been launching raids out of Stenness Node and the Minos Cluster. The Empire has secured its valuable assets in the galaxy's core, and Bothan spies report to the Alliance that the Hydian systems are well fortified, almost to the point of being impenetrable. But among the Imperial high command, there are concerns about the wavering defenses of Commenor and Correlia. [Achievement: Rebels have unlocked the "Spy Network" achievement by controlling Bothan Space and received some intelligence as a result, which is that the Imperials currently have 4 net wins in the Hydian Systems. That's a lot!] The loyalties of the Corporate Sector and Perlemian Systems remain undecided, but both factions have an interest in controlling these key industrial centers. Reports of dogfights in these regions can only signal an escalation of the fighting here. Perhaps most importantly, the Empire has discovered the location of the Rebels' hidden base. It is a prime target, since it will be valuable to the Alliance as long as it stands. [Achievement: The start of phase 2 unlocks the "Hidden Base" achievement for the Rebels. This base adds its value of 2 to the Rebel score as long as it is under Rebel control. It is treated like any other sector on the map, and you can fight over it if you choose. If the Empire ever takes control of the Hidden Base, it will be destroyed and will add 2 to the Imperial score permanently.] [Achievement: Both factions ended the round with an unbroken block of 4 or more connected systems. As a reward, each faction received 1 bonus net win in one of the sectors within that block.] And the battle for the galaxy continues... Englishpete 1,379 Posted December 5, 2013 (edited) We fought a battle for the Lahara sector at lunch today SYSTEM: Lahara Sector WINNER: Imperial DATE PLAYED: 2013-Dec-5 REBEL PLAYER(s): rwhiffen REBEL SQUAD LIST(s): Lando Calrissian, Marksmanship, Sabateur Chewbacca, Marksmanship, Gunner, Millenium Falcon IMPERIAL PLAYER(s):EnglishpeteIMPERIAL SQUAD LIST(s): Bounty Hunter Bounty Hunter Bounty Hunter The three Bounty Hunters dropped in system to find Lando and Chewie waiting for them. The three Firesprays wasted no time in sprinting to the attack, but the rebel scum didn't take the bait and slow rolled into the fight. The three Hunters were ready for this and closed in on Lando bringing all guns to bare on him stripping shields and a hull point. Lando and Chewie punched back stripping all the shields from one of the Hunters and putting a crit that reduced his agility. The next round saw some more maneuvering with Chewie being bumped by 2 of the Hunters and Lando taking more punishment to leave him with only 2 hull. most of the shields fell from another bounty hunter. The next round was decisive with Lando being taken out of the fight, a couple of crits went through on another Hunter but nothing of consequence. Chewie took a few shield hits. Over the next 3 rounds, Chewie finished of the badly wounded Hunter but fell to the combined fire of all the hunters over 3 rounds. "This is Hunter 1 to Hunter 2. That put those scum in there place. The Empires hold on the Core is solidified and a vital rebel foothold and supply line is broken." "Jump out on my mark. 3-2-mark..." DagobahDave 1,621 Posted December 6, 2013 MAP UPDATE: http://www.outworld-studio.com/xwing/jpg/uxgc-s01p02.jpg (You may need to refresh the images to see the updates.) A bunch of play reports of questionable merit have been discarded. The campaign map has been updated to show the grand total of 13 battles I'm confident are legitimate. (If you posted your report on a forum or sent me a report by email, then your battle report was legit!) MAP CHANGES: A spacelane has been added between Corellia and Malastare, for reasons that might become clear later. The value of Stenness Node has been raised from 1 to 2, as its strategic value in the game actually appears to be worth it.
