X-wing plug-in for Strange Eons

Upgrade card? Tested adding it to both  upgrade and pilot cards on my end, loads fine.

 

If you want, I can add it to whatever card type and upload the .eon?

Nah, It's fine.  I just exported the card without the image then added the image in photoshop.  Thanks though.

 

Weird that it's working for you, but not for me.  I wonder what my issue is.

I'd say reinstall the X-wing plugin as a first step, but then I work tech support and we get an unholy joy from telling people to reinstall things.

I think it's something wrong with the folder I put it in, because I moved the image to the desktop and tried loading it from there and it worked fine.

This very cool, thanks for all your hard work!

 

Do you have or can you make a "plain frame" sort of faction?  Sort of an independent faction card frame, maybe a plain gray or something, that would look suitable for local planetary defense forces, CorSec, etc?  I'm working on a team (by faction) campaign event, and I'll be playing the local forces when we end up with an odd number of players.

I just downloaded it last night and was going to ask if there was a way to make custom factions.

Depending on whether you can use an existing colour scheme, it's reasonably possible to just change the roundel with an image editor. Would be a neat feature, though.

I'm having a hard time guessing what to type to make the symbols work. So far I've figured out <Evade> and <Focus> but <Hit> doesn't work and I can't guess what else it could be. I suspect the diamond-shaped "i" is supposed to tell me, but it bugs out and I can't see the list.

I'm not sure about documentation. The diamond i can stop working if the bold/italic/etc thing pops up over it, try it from a pilot card since that has better spacing.

Is there a way to change the "custom" ship icon to one of the existing ships icons in program?

Like in the case of the E-Wing, I have to make a custom E-Wing since the hull value is wrong in the template... But now it doesn't have the E-Wing ship icon!

First, sorry for the long delay!

 

 

I've been using this for a fairly large project as it kicks the snot out of every other card creator, but as of the latest version I've come across a fairly tedious bug.

 

Any pilot cards that were created and saved in older version have a black upgrade slot(no icon, just a black circle) on the very right side of the upgrade bar. I can't remove it by any combination of upgrades. Also, when loading an old pilot card, it treats it as if the card was just modified right then, asking me to save it when closed, etc

 

New pilot cards don't have this issue, but I really don't want to have to re-do 56 cards with specific art/icon offsets and scaling.

Oh, thanks for reporting! The bug was introduced when I added the option to use up to 7 upgrade slots (since punisher and k-wing have 7 upgrades) . You can solve this by adding an upgrade on the last slot (number 7) and then change back to 'none'.

 

 

1. One more bug report: it's not switching the attack icon on pilot cards from the default when Front&Rear arc is selected. Occurs with both large and small bases.

 

2. Also, a minor feature request: is it possible to add a flip command for ship icons? Icons on base inserts are supposed to point left, while those on pilot cards point right. I've been saving flipped versions of the icons, which isn't a huge deal, but an in-editor solution would be simpler and save on space .seproject-wise (assuming it can use the same resource for both icons, which I actually don't know).

Hmm, I'm actually not sure where I got that either, looking at stuff now they all seem to be pointing right, coulda sworn...

I have been thinking about it, and want to explore the concept of adding "Faction pack" when I have caught up with all the official stuff.

Eh no, sorry, no documentation except the diamond shaped thingy. It works fine for me but I have a large screen. I will try to make it more compact next update.

Thanks for providing that list! You can also add ship icons now inside the text <xwing>. I don't know if that is useful for anyone but since I changed all integrated ship images to a ship font, so the code was already there anyway.

This plugin is very fun, thank you for your efforts.

Just wanted to point out that the stat line for the E wing is off. It sets the hull value as 4 instead of 2.

It depends on my children -- if they choose to sleep when they are suppose to and not wake up after a couple of hours after bedtime...  :P

 

The arc thingy is actually the feature I am currently working on. The thing is, I decided to rework how ship tokens are rendered, moving from full images to image components and geometrical shapes to create the different token sizes, factions and fire arcs. I realized I would save time with this in place when implementing huge ships and their multitude of different fire arcs. So... in a couple of weeks would be my estimate.

I guess there is no harm letting you know the prio-order of coming features:

 

1: Remake how ship tokens are rendered + add 180* arc. (still a lot of photo-shopping before I'm done)

2: Single card huge ships (without fire arcs).

3: Double card huge ships (including fire arcs for single card huge ships).

4. Huge ship upgrade card update.

5. Add option to custom pilot cards to use existing ship icons.

6. Reference cards.

7. Damage cards.

Made a couple pilot cards last night.

 

When I try and Export them as general purpose images, the colors come out all ****** up like this:

When I export it as a high definition image suitable for printing, the colors are fine.

Any idea what the problem is?
