What quest AFTER First Blood?

15 posts in this topic

Ahoy peeps

Starting a campaign saturday and I have read everything possible. But I can´t seem to figure out how the campaign system works regarding what quest the players or me can choose after we complete First Blood intro quest.

Is anyone of the act 1 quests available after completion of the intro, regarding who won the intro, or is the next quest A fat goblin?

After what I know, Kunzite is a Lady.

Robin is correct. I am a lady, but I wasn't going to say anything. After all, this is a form with a great many gentleman. And "Kunzite" is originally a male name (after the gentleman that discovered the stone). It's just a really pretty and rare stone.

Thank you, Robin ^.^

I was just providing usefull information. ;-)

BTW I once was whacked on the BGG Agricola forums, because I started a rules question by a "Hi Gents", as it did ruffle the feathers of some PC ideologists over there.

Actually, as I came from the historical wargaming world, I was used to be in contact with an overwhelming male community.

And useful information is what we give here! ^.^!

I have never take it badly. I think it's great that the OL is always addressed as a man (the use of "him" and "he" in the rules) even though the OL persona in LoR is a woman (Ariad). There is flavor there. Descent is full of hidden flavor like that everywhere. And in our group, I am the currently the only lady playing and I take the villain's role. I like the irony.

But I am aware of the overwhelming male community here and other places and I respect it. ^.^ I am glad I am also excepted. And even looked out for, as you have so generously done. Those ladies that do get all caught up in that feather ruffling need to stick there head in some ice water. Respect the space and enjoy being apart of it ^.^! That's what I say.

IIRC it was a male forum member who scolded me.

Even though I believe I have high morality standards, I am allergical to PC talk. ;-)

it's more fun that way! Like it's always fun to talk about those "Good for nothing do-gooders called heroes" when I really do love my heroes ^.^! And they are fantastic people. In war games, everyone is a "sir" or "gent" because that's the way things are. And since it's a game, we should have fun <3

Can I also ask what is probably a daft question but again I just want to be absolutely clear about how choosing Act 1 quests works prior to us starting our first campaign this month.

When you say 'any' Act 1 quest, that literally means any Act 1 quest correct? In other words, the order they are listed on the sheet has no bearing? So, if the Overlord wins First Blood he is perfectly entitled to choose Death on the Wing as the next quest as opposed to The Fat Goblin? Assuming this is correct, if the Overlord then won Death on the Wing the Overlord player could then choose to play The Fat Goblin or indeed any of the other Act 1 quests even though they are listed before Death on the Wing on the sheet?

Same page, different topic.....

If the heroes win First Blood they get to choose the next Act 1 quest.... But for them to choose wisely they should have the questbook available to them.... or do they? The info on the quest pages give away too much info for the players....?

I haven´t played the campaign yet so I don´t know the mechanics of the choosing elements.....

Do the players have full access to the questbook when they decide the next quest?

The answer to your last question: yes.

All players, both the heroes and the overlord, are allowed to read every page in every rulebook. Be it manual of quest guide.

For them to choose a follow-up quest, they will have to read up on every quest carefully.

The Quest Book, p. 2, under "Public Information" clearly states that all players have access to the quests' information.

Hiding if from the heroes would give a serious advantage to the OL, which is not fair in a skirmish game like Descent.
