chiller087 37 Posted October 20, 2013 Ok, so we played our first 2v2 game the other night, my wife played her smuggler vehicles and I played my rebel vehicles and we won with the dial at 6 (I'm sure we broke some rules by forgetting them) and it was still a ton of fun. Having had a feel for how teamwork plays out in 2v2 games, I went home to try to specifically build some decks for the multiplayer format using the current card pool: #1 Jedi affiliation 2x A Journey to Dagobah 2x Questionable Contacts 2x Wookie Life Debt 2x Asteroid Sanctuary 2x Last Defense of Hoth #2 Smugglers and Spies affiliation 2x Trust Me 2x A Hero's Journey 2x In You Must Go 2x The Secret of Yavin IV 2x A Message From Beyond Both decks have 6 resources cards (although R2 is unique) and both decks are almost entirely character driven (even Red Two's pod has a character focused event in it). Since the DS could only ever have 4 Force Chokes, combined with Guardians and (if we get Wookie Life Debt) the wookies all shunting damage around, I think it'd be a difficult combo to deal with. My thinking on swapping affiliation was so that each of us would be able to buy the other's cards via the common reserve if need be. If she had a Chewbacca and a Han in her hand, and I got nothing but chuds, she could toss one into the reserve and I could buy it and we could get both going on the same turn. Of if she has Han and I got no good targets for Trust your Feelings or Old Ben's Spirit, I could toss one in the reserve and she could slap it on Han or Chewie and go to town. This is entirely experimental, and I REALLY want to shoe-horn in Obi-Wan somewhere so we can use Jedi Mind Trick. I'm 100% certain this list will evolve through trial and error, but at least on paper it looks fun AND effective. Thoughts? Micah
MacRauri 92 Posted October 20, 2013 Those decks seem pretty good to me. I curious about what you played against though. We tried 2v2 last night just throwing together 2 competitive 1v1 LS decks and they did pretty well. The problem was what to play as DS. You can't both play sith trinity after all... We thought DS would do well to have one person play control and the other build an offense, but in our games LS proved to be just too aggressive even for needing 5 objectives. Games were also over with the dial at 5-7. This might just be a learning curve similar to when Edge of Darkness cam out, but it seems to me LS is at an advantage and the DS players will have to work to figure out how to address the threats from two fronts. Yeah I'm having a harder time throwing together a pair of DS decks, spent most of the afternoon trying to make something that at least looked like it would work. Here's what I came up with: #1 Imperial Navy affiliation 2x Fall of the Jedi 2x Council of the Sith 2x The Emperor's Web 2x The Executor Arrives 1x Deploy the Fleet 1x something else, maybe Endless Reserves, or another Deploy the Fleet #2 Sith affiliation 2x Killing Cold 2x Imperial Command 2x The General's Imperative 2x A Dark Time for the Rebellion 1x Shadows on the Ice 1x Sabotage in the Snow I always struggle when making an Executor deck, becuase I want to throw in The Killing Cold, but then I feel I'm strapped for resources. This way the #2 player takes over that respobsibility. But then I had to build a deck with Killing Cold in it without Vader/Palpy/etc so I used the old weenie DS hoth deck build. And boy when Aggression goes off in a 4 player game with the Executor out, it's a nice thing . I also have another build where I put the Killing Cold into deck #1, and put Executor into deck #2 and make that deck a capital ship deck. I'm still not sure which one I like more, but I feel the above setup will be more consistent. Micah
