Force wepons

Ok I looked at them and I have only just noticed why is the force sword so much better then all the others as it gains damage and pen from its primitive counterpart unlike all the others in fact the Scythe gets worse ideas should I start trying to change things or just forget about balance

They have more or less the same stats...

Scythe traded felling (1) to get force quality 8wich is way better than a lousy felling (1)..  damage and pen are the same (1d10+4 R pen 3) unbalanced both (also 2 handed)

regular staff and force staff get the same  1d10 Impact pen 0 balanced

Well sword got boosted up... but a damage +2 pen 2 could mean a master-crafted, best or good quality to

One of my player (sorcerer) got his Force sword powerfielded by an inquisitorial interrogator.. but later happens to loot a strange scythe from a space Hulk (which was an agricultural trade vessel going to an ogryn world with some equipment's) now he is looking for a ritual to strengthen it and empower its ability to focus psychic energies....

If that little thing bothers you, you'd not like to compare normal weapons weapons to most rare/exotic weapons or daemon/legacy weapons.

Looking through my books I see some things that are left out from BC corebook and Force weapon special quality.

First of all in DH, RT and OW Force weapon quality states that if Force weapon is used by non-psyker it counts as

(Good in DH) Best Cratmanship Mono variant of said weapon.

So that somewhat explains Force Swords +1 damage and +2 pen increase over its primitive version but not why they left it out from almost every single other weapon in Force weapon list.

Also the Force Description in BC is wrong. It should state that said force weapon wielded by PR 3 psyker should get +3 to damage and Pen, not inflict 1d10+3 damage and have pen 3.

I have used it like that, as it's explained in DH, RT, DW and OW.

If you want to check this out I recommend going to 40K RPG Tools

Or if your still not convinced send message to FFG team and ask. Link can be found on the at the bottom of the page between User Support and Help links. Or if you happen to fail your Perception test, I put it HERE

@Athanatosz

Have you house ruled or was there some reason why Power weapon destroyed Force weapon. Just asking because Force Weapons are immune to that effect.

No house rule it is in the book Core rule book page 150

"When a character successfully uses this weapon to Parry an attack (or his own attack is parried) by a weapon without the Power Field, Natural Weapon, or Warp Weapon Quality or Trait, he has a 75% chance of destroying his attacker’s weapon.'

Errata does not mention it too... so it is basically fluff...

About Dark Heresy:

PowerfIeld
A field of power wreathes weapons with this quality, increasing
its Damage and Penetration. Such modifiers are already
included in the weapon’s profile. When you successfully use
this weapon to Parry an attack made with a weapon that
lacks this quality, you have a 75% chance of destroying your
attacker’s weapon.

So i think they are not immune to it

BC Corebook p.149 - Force weapon special quality last sentence:

"Force weapons cannot be destroyed by a power weapon’s field."

Also in Inquisitor's handbook p.188, Into the Storm p.127, Deathwatch p.155 and Only War p.170

So you have just missed it.

was just writing this when you wrote that. But happened to me few times also. So thats why I knew.

no matter the interrogator was high on buff and bodybulided for arm muscle or other things...

Not the storyteller the only one who should have to know about the player characters owned equipment's...
