robomarv 0 Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) Since Elusiveness reads 'The attacker must reroll that die.' and "Dark Curse" actually forbids the attacker to reroll any attack dice, is this a useless comination? Edit: Wow, I didn't even notice that Elusiveness is a elite talent and not a modification... sorry about that. But as the damage is already done, why not spin the story a bit further: I guess someday there will be a modification or titel which adds a elite talent to a ships action bar... CrookedWookie 1,258 Posted September 26, 2013 I would be surprised if we didn't see an Elite Pilot version of Veteran Instincts for 2-3 points at some point down the road, yeah.
Ken at Sunrise 2,065 Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) Then you could see any combination of ability on any pilot. Somewhere and if not now sometime there would end up being a game breaking combination. You would have just lost any control over balance? Just a thought [Edit] or a never ending cold war of power creep. Edited September 26, 2013 by Ken at Sunrise
Aminar 1,949 Posted September 26, 2013 For theory reasons I'd say you get your modify dice step. They can't reroll/use focus tokens during theirs. Anybody care to chime in on that timing?
dvorm 1,058 Posted September 26, 2013 Rulebook page 20: If one card ability forbids an effect, while another ability allows it, the effect is forbidden. According to that rule the die cannot be rerolled. The combination does not work. 1 GroggyGolem reacted to this
Buhallin 4,563 Posted September 26, 2013 I agree with dvor. Dark Curse prevents the attacker from rerolling any dice, for any reason, so even if you could put Elusiveness on him, it wouldn't work.
CrookedWookie 1,258 Posted September 26, 2013 But can we really definitively say what "forbid" means?
Drakhan Valane 321 Posted September 26, 2013 It's not defined in the rules, so we need errata on it, CrookedWookie!
CrookedWookie 1,258 Posted September 26, 2013 It doesn't say it's limited to Dark Curse, or has any end, either. I think Dark Curse actually prevents you from ever rerolling dice for any reason ever. If one card ability forbids an effect, while another ability allows it, the effect is forbidden. Dice re-rolls are forbidden, yo. 1 Drakhan Valane reacted to this
