Chalices, Blood, and the House of Dust and Ash (spoilers!)

I thought the Alter of fire was the genetoria as im pretty sure that it says somewhere that the complex is powered by the volcano. I just put the Alter too far away for them to set it off and then make it out so at least one of them had to die. One of the players was wanting a new character but wanted a heroic way out so he volunteered.

It was 2 in the morning so the players were kind of tired so it could have been a bit more epic but I wanted to finish it up pretty soon especially since we aren't going to be able to play another session for at least a month so I didn't want it to run over to another one. I'll post everything later on as I want some help with coming up with ideas for the next game. I changed some of the characters personalities a bit sometimes because of forgetfulness but at least once for comic effect (none of us liked Octavia Nile so she went insane with Paranoia after getting her objective).

Well in that case, either the Altar of Fire could be targeted as the man power source (difficult to destroy)- or the Acolytes could target the void-shield inhibitor itself, if they could find it.

 

I like that idea though. :)

I ditched a lot of this adventure in the drink, mostly because of time restraints (as it was it went for 12hrs real time as it was), prevent any prior skimming of the adventure, got rid of the Inq 'borrowing acolytes' (which isnt done in my adventures) and the mission was mostly set around the basis for information gathering as they are Heretics Ordo. So, its sort of set itself as a scouting mission of just 'what' kind of people turn up to these kind of things and they did uncover a fair diversity of them waddling in that will set itself a a precedent for at least half a dozen other adventures tracking down buyers, people of interest and some of the relics themselves.

So on the way in they where hit by ork raiders in a fairly souped up airship painted red and belching black smoke from its big turbines, I was pretty happy with my new and shiny orkoids out of the Critters Anathema, they dealt out some pretty good beatings in melee! On arrival they spent their time getting some picts of the items, the people that turned up and basically guarded a Dialogous with a big wallet who's aim was to get some of the items off the market and put them up to this in the first place as their Inquisitor is out of town for a year or so and they're left in charge of the place for a bit.

Wasn't that enthralled with the idea of the generators and shields as an ending, so instead they got a lead on an arch-heretic (Myrchella out of the DotDG) that managed to pick herself up a shiny little Halo device and went after her, big battle around and aboard a guncutter involving plenty of bloodshed, beatings and she only just managed to get away by the smallest of margins as her guards managed to fend them off for long enough. It left two of them out cold, about 150 innocent/slow/stupid other people dead, a wrecked guncutter, a blown up airship sinking into the caustic depths with all aboard and the remaining 2 + the sister looking up at the fleet of orky skyships bearing around the volcano ready to plunda n pillage the place... called in a favour of the skyship captain that got them there in the first place and (wisely) decided to run away.
