So I just picked up both expansions at the locale gaming convention that occurs whenever there is a 3 day weekend and have since been organizing the content of both expansion to fit well in the original box. While doing so I noticed something peculiar. I noticed that the only racial tech the Nekro Virus had were two copies of the Valefar Assimilator card (one with a Shattered Empire marking, and the other with Shards of the Throne marking) and that's it. My question is is this on purpose? Meaning, are both techs meant to be an Assimilator or was one card meant to be a replacement for the other and I'm actually missing the 2nd tech? It makes sense fluff wise to me that both techs would be an assimilator but I wouldn't know for sure since I've never physically saw any of the expansion content until now. Thanks! Fnoffen 96 Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) There should indeed be two copies. Since the Nekro doesn't really think new things up, they may simply copy a total of two different other racial techs. Why they did one from each expansion is probably for continuitys sake since, if I'm not mistaken, all other races have one racial tech from each expansion. Steve-O 473 Posted September 1, 2013 (edited) Yeah, someone who owns Shards, but not Shattered Empire, would play the game using only the racial techs with Shards icons on them. All the racial techs with the SE icon would be left in the box, and that would of course include one copy of Valefar.
