Am I missing something, or is the damage for a shoto wrong? It shows up as 5 (correct) in the weapons table, but when you add it, it applies the -1 dmg modification inherent in a shoto. Thing is - I'm pretty sure that the base damage should then be 6, which is then lowered by 1 to 5 - 1 less than a regular lightsaber.

Thoughts?

That is correct the generator automaticly deducts or adds to your weapons damage based on how something modifies it like the shoto which like you said does a -1 to the base saber damage of 6

I have been having trouble entering new talents into the most recent version of the builder. The problem I'm having is when I input the options for the Activation type and whether it is ranked or a Force power. I select the appropriate options, but after I save and check it, it deselects my chosen options and reverts to passive activation. I had an earlier version installed on my other computer and tried on there, and had no issues. I finished adding the talents on my other machine and when I imported them over to my main computer, everything was as it should be with no issues. I just can't add talents from the new books with the 2.3.2.0 build.

@OggDude Here is the Clone career, the 6 specializations (with corresponding new talents), and species. (it has more than half of the descriptions for talents already entered because I don't know how to create a data set properly...)

@OggDude I have a question about the Custom Vehicles (namely Ships):

Is there a way to add the ship silhouette image and Ship Reference Image to a ship that has been made using the generator? If so, what format/size are they and where do I find examples?

I am beating together an example of the Sith Fury-class and wanted to make it somewhat complete.

With my (limited) skills in Photoshop, I'd like to try and provide them, if you don't happen to have anything pre-made.

Maybe when I'm done, I can send you the info/export file, and it can get posted here for people to review/rate/add it for themselves?

there is. I dont know the specifics. I know you put an image in a specific folder. I think someone here will be able to fill you in on how.

Hi all!  Getting back into the game (hopefully) after a pretty long break.  I see bigtent is now gone, and a google group was set up.  Can someone grant me access?  I can't seem to PM oggdude himself about it.  Thanks!

OK, let me see if I got this right:

I need to create folders as named above.

Now, do they need to be in the same folder as the Data/VehicleImages  and Data/VehicleSilhouettes, or within the Data folder itself?

So far, I have an image for the overall ship. (see attached) and am working on the silhouette...

I decided to simply use the existing file for the TIE Interceptor, as I was having too much trouble trying to sort out Alpha Channels, and transparencies.

So far, it's not showing up, but I suspect I have to put them somewhere specific and maybe edit the reference file to include them from the Data Editor.

Hi all, when I click on the web install version on Oggdude's profile, I get a warning from Bitly.  When I tell it to proceed anyway, Chrome blocks the download.  Am running ver. 2.3.1 and never had this happen before.  Any Ideas?

Just create a VehicleImages folder and a VehicleSilhouettes folder within the DataCustom folder.

Place the images in their appropriate folders, using .png files. File name should be all caps and match the item key that you used when creating the vehicle in Data Editor.

ex: If your item key is CYLONRAIDER, then your images will (both) be CYLONRAIDER.png, just placed in their respective folders.

@Nytwyng What worked (finally) was putting them in the \Data\VehicleImages and Data\VehicleSilhouettes folders, and all went well.

Personally, I don't understand the DataCustom folder not working, but it seems to work now with what I did.

If anyone is interested in the XML file, just let me know here, and I'll upload it  when I figure out exactly how to get it out of the file maze ;)

All has been quiet here.

I am going to go ahead and upload this file and see what everyone thinks of it.

I used a couple of different sources for stat reference, but they overlap fairly consistently.

For the silhouette, just rename a copy of the TIE Interceptor, or use the file I posted above.

Hopefully, it's not too far out of line for everyone, and adds something of value. After all, there might be PCs that find such a relic of the ancient Sith Empire hidden away and want to use it in their adventures.

On a slightly different note: Am I the only one that seems to be missing a few options on the Vehicle Building screen?

Specifically, I am looking for the Medical Bay option (possibly including the Bacta Tank).

It's mentioned in a few different ship descriptions (including the Sith Fury-class), and I was trying to keep the ship in line with those descriptions.

I can certainly see this as an option for getting a Boost die or two, if it's successfully added to the ship. Maybe greater adds, too. I just can't think of them right now.

Maybe a Droid Bay as well, to add a possible Advantage to work done to repair/tinker/upgrade them? Maybe tinker with Cybernetics, too?

Hopefully I am not too far out of line here. Is there a way to add any of these, and I am just missing it?

@Nytwyng Something I noticed recently: There are 2 different instances of the DataCustom directory:

One in my C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SWCharGen\DataCustom

And another in my C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\74XX2DYO.1RD\V2A3O4CL.A3B\swch..tion_0000000000000000_0002.0003_2e5b88c4a84ff9c1\DataCustom

I have tried to limit my tinkering to the directory based in the AppData\Roaming\SWCharaGen\ set, and it seems to be working so far. Recently, it simply LOST all my customs and updates, but I have reconstructed them, and they seem to be stable now.

Also of note: I can now print Two-Sided output without having to save/export as PDF, so something may have been added in a stealthy way.

It now shows up as an option under Print/Standard/[Preferences].  Yay, paper savings!

 

Have you had a chance to take a peek at what I made? Does it seem OK to you? There doesn't seem to be a lot of feedback going on right now, so I'm scratching for anything I can get ;)

There are no mechanics for a medical bay.  The astromech droid socket covers a droid room.  Spe CV ial modifications has rules for workshops.

If there is a Special Mods spot, I can't say I have found it as yet.

The Astromech Droid Socket has mods that add to what the droid itself can do, but I have not seen any other types of adds linked to it.

Workshop seems to be the best option. Now I just have to figure out where it is, and add it in, then maybe rename it to Med Bay, perhaps.

After looking at the app again, I have noticed that there is no item/option to add a workshop. Also, the only option added by the Astromech Droid Socket is the Auto-eject option.

So, where would I find/add in the option for something like a Medbay with Bacta tank to a ship/vehicle? I'm just lost now...
