Hottest Choas deck build currently? or soon to be?

Hiya! I'm trying to build a hardcore cardgamer friend of mine a Chaos deck because that is what he chose "I am all that is chaotic" or something along those lines he told me, but either way, he loves this game but he wants a chaos deck... and I don't know exactly what the hottest thing is about it currently or will be coming with the new sets.

Personally, I think 4.Ibuki or 7.Mitsu would be the 'ish. Promo Guy is better off Order, as Order has mondo draw ability and can constantly replenish his opponent's hand to synergize with his Spd Boost ability. However, i would suggest taking another look at 1.Guy. Off Chaos he's pretty fierce! I took 1.Guy to a Top4 finish at the Santa Clara AoP last March; he was veritably the Dark Horse of the tourny: NO ONE saw him coming.

Chaos has only gotten better since then, i agree...so, yea...

Out of thoes 4, i would side with Ibuki. Her numbers are all in the right spots and her abilities are very synergistic.

That being said I think there are better chaos characters than thoes 4

I might be in the minority, but I recommend the Lizardman. He might not be the best character for Top-8ing at a major event, but he sure is fun to play. The ability to recur almost any card from discard, and his tanking makes him impossible to kill sometimes. Might want to splash some water in the deck though with Aquakenesis, Familial Loyalty or even The Bigger They Are.. (probably put this in the sideboard though, and only use it against someone taller than 5'11") to make up for the small hand size. Do you have an idea as to what you want the deck to do? Aggro with some powerful attacks, spammable attacks, control, or something else? Any cards that he's seen that he wants in the deck? That's often how I end up making a deck. I see some cards that I want in a deck, and I build the idea around those.

Another one to considor is Kyoshiro. His draw 5 cards once a game ability is nice turn 2.

 

If you're looking for a "dark horse" type toon then what about Fio? Her+ Galatica Phantom = HILARITY when you strip their hand away with her ability and all Chaos' hand to momentum foundations.

all he really wants is a fun deck to play until the next soulcal set comes out, but if the new tira has chaos then he'll be stoked.

but just recently he really loves the way most chaos cards he's seen do either instant blocking or just no damage after blocking. so sort of right now he's aiming favor towards lizardman.

I thought so too, or even Void/Water combo but we went with chaos as best we could and I posted the deck we came up with.

I don't think he particularly cares whats 'best'. I think he wants to play a character he likes with a symbol he likes...
