Seruthei 0 Posted August 7, 2013 I'm currently playing a campaign where I'm having some difficulty keeping up power-wise with other players. Everyone is level 6, I'm a Ranger, and we have a Mentalist, an Illusionist, a Tao, and a Technician. It seems that my low base damage is really hurting me when it comes to combat, as even with armor-piercing arrows I seem to end up doing minimal damage to enemies. 40 base damage isn't that great. Anyone have any ideas on how I could balance against the people with 80-140 base damage?
Nurddude 0 Posted August 7, 2013 1) Obtain an Artifact. 2) Use MK to create Techniques. Your other party members are Mystics or Domine, so it may be difficult to keep up with them.
Seruthei 0 Posted August 7, 2013 Dang. I think the base damage of bows is way too low, especially considering your strength isn't added to it.
Tarrant12 1 Posted August 7, 2013 An artifact and quality bow would definitely help things out, especially if it has a power that makes quality arrows appear. Also I do believe that bows get the strength bonus to damage. I could be wrong but I couldn't find anywhere under projectile weapons that stated one way or the other. Under the longbow description it says it must be used two-handed but the STR bonus isn't doubled so I assume you still get the +str to damage
Nurddude 0 Posted August 7, 2013 Tarrant12 is, to the best of my knowledge, correct. However, non-quality bows are only able to handle a certain amount of strength.
Seruthei 0 Posted August 8, 2013 Thanks for the input guys. With the strength bonus added in and some magic gear, I'm balanced with the rest of the team now!
