zolledine 0 Posted March 22, 2009 hi, i do just own the tannhäuser basic game - and i'm thinking of achieving novgorod. but what i'd really like to know beforehanb is: can i play with three factions (reich, russians and us) on one board? i'd need more entry points - which would be possible with the secret doors... LilRed 0 Posted March 22, 2009 Theoraticly it could be done, and the new Novgorod map has 4 entry points! I would limit the factions to only 2 heroes to make sure the map isn't too cluttered. Have never done it myself tho, biggest problem I see is when 2 gang up against 1.
Gatha 0 Posted March 22, 2009 I've got plans to use all the characters but use two boards. Since the Nova board has the mansion (?) you can play with the Riech coming downstairs, the Union coming in and the ruskies coming from outside. Or the mansion and the occult basement. Then you use secret doors and certain entry points as bridges. The biggest problem though is the Riech and Union will likely team up to take out zor'ka so I'd recommend switching her for Gorgei to make sure the game lasts awhile longer for all sides. Drop Bear 0 Posted March 26, 2009 theirs a problem with swaping out zor'ka, without her you can't feild Voivodes, so you can't make a Leagal Team.
YoshiPL 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Drop Bear is right there... if you want to balance it a bit then simply start the game without Zor'ka and let him (her) enter the map on 2nd or 3rd turn.
Gatha 0 Posted March 27, 2009 Assuming you're not in a tournament I don't see why you can't ignore that rule if don't want to use Zor'ka for whatever reason
WintermuteZero 0 Posted March 27, 2009 I wanted to add that it is perfectly possible to play with 3 Fractions on the new Novgorod Map. Just today i did a great 3 Player Match. You can also use the other maps. And even though i thought the reich and the Union would cooperate (what shame!), but because we played "Capture the Flag" it went smoothly even without 2 against 1. It was a close call in the end. Even though i think the Matriarchy is overpowerd. especially on "Hard". It is for instance possible, to replace one Objetive Point with an entry point and Voilá! There you go. I think to add a second board is quite a nice idea. I have to make my mind up how to do it best. Greets!

This is pretty much what I did in my 3 Player Scenario that used a Secret Entrance as an additional entry point. I also altered the VP gains to avoid 2 on 1 situations. The rulebook is the be-all and end-all. If you think something would work better try it. If it doesn't oh well. At least you're being creative.
