Constantius 0 Posted July 18, 2013 Hello My question is about the order of responses played, especially for those that say for example after you win a challenge and/or lose a challenge. Let suppose that player A wins a mil challenge against player B Then player A wants to play a Die by the Sword because he won the challenge and player B wants to play the response of Areo Hotah (RotK) and Taste for blood because he lost the challenge. From what i understand the response of player B (e.g Areo Hotah) should be played first because it is a response to an "action" (the challenge framework action) initiated by player A. Then player A could play his Die by the Sword and then is player's B turn again to play e.g the Taste for blood. Am i correct?
HoyaLawya 6 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) They are all responses, and therefore are all played within the same response window. Die by the Sword, Hotah, and Taste for blood are all responding to the framework resolution of the challenge. Unlike responses to a player action which start to the left of the player whose action it was, responses to framework actions start with the first player. It all depends on who was the first player. If player A is first player, he goes first. If player B was first player, he goes first. In this case, player B has two responses. He has to chose which response happens first because responses will alternate until both players pass. Note: Even if Hotah is killed by Die by the Sword first, he can still trigger his response. When killed, he enters moribund:dead. While moribund, he is still in play and capable of initiating his response. The same is true of the character Taste for Blood is attached to is killed. The character is moribund:dead and Taste for Blood is moribund:discard. Taste for Blood can still trigger to give the character 1 more power. If that's the 15th power, you win the game. If it isn't the 15th power, it doesn't really matter since that power is soon lost once the character leaves moribund and enters the dead pile at the end of the response window.
