Conflict resolution after the objective is destroyed

Hello all,

I am begining at SW the card game, I read attentively the rule book , but I am still a bit wondering what happens when the objective engaged is destroyed on the first attacker's unit strike.

The remaining ready attacking units continue to focus to strike (because every participationg unit has to return exhausted from an engagement), meaning that any additional blast dammage have no effect, as the objective is already destroyed, is that right?

I'm very new to this to, but am enjoying the game so I have a question along these lines.

If objective I have targeted for this conflict is destroyed during the edge battel, can I pick enother one for my stricking units or are their attacks lost.

Their attacks aren't lost, but any blast damage they have does nothing. If you know that you'll destroy the objective with a fate card, you should be attacking with units bearing tactics or unit damage + targeted strike to maximize the utility of the engagement.
