Upcoming Changes to the Fantasy Flight Games Forums   01/20/2017

Hello Fantasy Flight Games forum community!   This week, we will be making some important changes to your Fantasy Flight Games community account and the way that you log into the Fantasy Flight Games community forums and web store.   We have been working hard to integrate with the rest of the Asmodee group, and we are happy to announce a unified way to access all the websites and apps made by Fantasy Flight Games, Days of Wonder, and Asmodee!   For most users, nothing will change: you will still log into the Fantasy Flight Games forums using your current login name and password. Only the login user interface will be new.   For a few users, your credentials might be slightly changed. For example, this could happen to users who have both a Fantasy Flight Games and Days of Wonder account, or in the case of conflicting login names across platforms. When these situations occur, special e-mails will be sent to those users with an easy explanation about those changes and what steps to take next. For any of you receiving those e-mails, please make sure to follow the instructions carefully.   Remember, official communications from Fantasy Flight Games or Asmodee.Net will never ask for your password.   What are the benefits for you as a player? Using a unified account to access all of our web services and apps makes your life simpler. Over time, you will see new features emerging, such as keeping all of your friends under a single account, finding friends easily in apps with online play, or developing your personal profile by adding to your board games collection. These are just some of the features that you will see during the next year, once this important technical step is complete.   Important note: The migration of the forums to our new system will take place on Tuesday, January 24th. The forums will be offline for about two hours during that time. Once the migration is complete, older forum posts may look strange for up to 24 hours as we rebuild them in our new system.   We can’t wait to connect our board game communities and build bridges between universes, game systems, players, events, groups, game clubs, and more! This is only the first step in bringing people and games closer together. For more information, read our FAQ at https://asmodee.helpshift.com/a/asmodee-net/.   Best regards,   The Fantasy Flight Games Team

Cumulative crit effects question

3 posts in this topic

Ok I have a question about cumulative crit effects. If a marine  takes enough damage to go say 3 over his wounds threshold in a single attack would be suffer only one level of fatigue from the crit effect or would be suffer the effects of each level of fatigue before it as well.

Also power armor allows marines to ignore crit effects for a number of rounds due to the combat drugs. What if the effect is something like severed limb? Does the limb fall off after the drug wears off?

I believe that he suffers the additional effects of fatigue as well, but I may be wrong.

Lost extremities cannot be ignored by the use of combat drugs. All the painkillers in the world won't negate the fact that an arm is ruined beyond repair, its muscles shredded and its neural pathways utterly destroyed. Even an arm that is still attached will have to be replaced with a bionic by that point. So no, the drugs do not help against damage of that extreme degree.

Do you mean the character in question had fatigue prior to suffering the 3 crit? Or do you mean he also suffers crit effects 1 and 2 in addition to 3.

In the first case: yes all fatigue is cumulative, this is how you get knocked unconcious: taking enough fatigue to beat your TB. As for fatigue penalties, you only ever suffer a single -10 from fatigue irrespective of the amount of fatigue you have.

In the second case: NO, you do not suffer the lower levels of crit damage when you suffer a crit hit. You only suffer the crit damage the last hit took you to. It is possible to get hit and go to 1 crit, then take 2 more points of damage and go to 2 crit, and finally take another 2 points of damage and get into 3 crit. If this happens you do suffer all 3 levels of crit as seperate attacks took you to each crit level. If you only took 1 attack which put you straight to 3 crit you ONLY suffer the effects of a level 3 crit.

Combat drugs allows you to ignore non-physical damage effects.

Stuns, fatigue, or disorientation are ignored for the number of rounds you roll. These effects apply immediately so it is possible to nulify crit effects by having combat drugs work longer than the crit effect (for instance you get stunned for 2 rounds but roll 3 turns for combat drugs). Combat drugs also ignore these effects even if they existed before going crit and any new effects applied while combat drugs are still working.

Physical results such as slipping on blood, loss of limbs, or being knocked to the ground are not prevented or mitigated by combat drugs. Even if you used all 6 doses at once, your arm is still chopped off when its chopped off.
