Player A wins a mil challenge with a deadly character and a claim of one against two defenders. Player B discards a duplicate on one card for claim. Can that same card be killed for claim or can I character only be saved once? Another way to say this is say Sir Davos was in a challenge and had to satisfy a deadly character with mil claim of two. Can he discard three gold to stay in play? 23. Not sure what the "out-of-play" pile you're referring to is. Normally, this is not an area on the table, no. Special circumstances such as the new agenda Black Sails and one of the sand snakes (can't remember which one… starts with an "O") create out of play areas. Not sure about the sand snake… her text reads (and I'm paraphrasing) that if she is in your hand after you mulligan, you can remove her from the game to take another mulligan. As far as the new agenda, if there is a unique character in "the Hold," and you have another copy in your hand to play, feel free. 24a. On this first part of the question, if you have two characters (one unique with a dupe), and you're defending with both… you choose the unique for claim and discard the dupe, but then you have to kill one of the defenders for deadly as this is a seperate mechanic of the challenge resolution. A character can be saved as many times as you have the cards and resources to provide. 24b. If Ser Davos is your only character on the board, you would spend 2 gold to save him. One for claim (a character can only be chosen once for MIL claim, no matter how high that claim is) and one for deadly. Bearing in mind that a character can only be chosen once for claim, though, if you had any other characters on the board, you must choose one of them for the second kill from the claim of the challenge (you may still apply any saves appropriate for the second character)

I think you mean the "draw deck" or simply "the deck". When we talk about an "out of play area", we mean any area where cards can be at without being "in play". Specifically, OOP areas are: - the dead pile - the discard pile - the deck - the hand - the Shadows area The rules for unique cards only look at whether a unique card is in play under your control or ownership, or in your dead pile. You cannot play or put into play an unique card if you own or control another unique card with the same title, or f there is ine in your dead pile. Zacky Midnight said: 24. Can he discard three gold to stay in play? First off, you don't need to spend gold to save Ser Davos, you need to spend gold to keep him in play. Then, technically, you don't discard a dupe for claim. You choose the duped character for claim, then trigger his gained save response and save him from being killed. As stormwolf27 said, claim targets are chosen at the same time. If you satisfy a MIL claim 2, and you only have one character in play (or if your other character(s) cannot be killed), only that one character is chosen for claim. If he's saved, he lives. Again as Stormwolf said, it's different with deadly. Deadly resolves *after* claim. If you defend MIL against a deadly attacker with a non-deadly dude as your only character and lose the challenge, you need to save the character twice to keep him - once from claim, once from Deadly. Zacky Midnight 11 Posted June 22, 2013 25. Player A has Renly with Lightbringer out and plays Valar. Player B Plays Mad Kings legacy and chooses to go first. Player B discards lightbringer and Renly dies, correct? or Player A has Renly with Lightbringer out and plays Valar. PLAYER B wins initiative with a different plot but has Dany Handmaidenin play. Player A can still use Lightbringer because Dany Handmaiden would be in a moribund state and not killed until after save / response window closes correct? But afterwards lightbringer would be discarded. 26. Meera Reed can come out of shadows outside of the Shadows Window correct? 27. Stannis Baratheon is in play with a copy in discard. Melisandre scheme is played. The Copy can be placed back on Stannis as a duplicate without payinf cost correct?

Player B discards lightbringer and Renly dies, correct? No. All "When revealed…" plot effects resolve during the same Framework Action Window. The order in which these plots resolve doesn't matter here. If Mad King's Legacy is resolved first, Lightbringer goes into moribund:discard state, but can still be used to save Renly from Valar. Only after all plot effects and appendant passives/responses are resolved do moribund cards leave play physically. Zacky Midnight said: Player A has Renly with Lightbringer out and plays Valar.
