Great to see you back on track Boomer! :)

You know, I think there must be a collective mind thing going on here because along with you, joe boss and several others I have also recently had the urge to start building SW stuff again! Built a space station last night, got a Venetar, runner and ISD kit lined up for a corvette, gunship and dread mod and made some debris fields over the last few days...stop inspiring me with your excellent work, there aren't enough hours in the day (or night)!

Well I have been waiting a year now and in that time I have looked at your Nebbie my dear English Bull Dog, and wanting to have one like it something fierce!!! Now here comes Boomer back in action to the week before Gen Con week!

I swear FFG has until the end of this month to show what they have in store for Epic!

After that I am getting back to work on my Mark III even if it is the wrong thing to do!

Lol, I'll say it again. Friggin mind control! While looking for ref pics of the station last night I chanced upon a couple of pics of another ship and thought 'that looks pretty cool wouldn't mind a crack at that and downloaded the only two pics I could find of it......guess what....Mark III frigate! Shame we all live so far apart, once we finish all our projects (if we ever finish) we could put together the mother of all epic battles! That would be one very interesting retirement home, better than bingo and afternoon tv sat under a knitted blanket!

Just off track a little while I am here, does anyone know if you can change the title of a post once it's up? I like to keep things together but my old Kenner thread doesn't seem appropriate as it's already got everything else I have done and the title is a little misleading. If not I will start a new thread appropriately titled.

Boomer, are you going to create your monster in 3 parts for easy storage and transport?

Yeah I figured "Make a ship that I love, but do it so crazy and so huge that FFG CAN NOT AFFORD TO MAKE IT, That way they won't..."

<_<;)

Looks like you and I may be the only Wingers that will have a Mark III unless Boomer and/or Bolda build one too.

As for the post titles, nah man, you can't change 'em.

:(

I already attached the center rod/hull to the engine section so if I do it will have to be in two parts. The front will slide on to the center rod/hull/tube whatever you call it part of the ship.

These would be some cool ships to model. I found these two ships on a Google search but I can’t remember what they are. Anyone know what they are or the size of the ships?

Have to ask how many Pepakura Star Wars ships are there? I'd like to make a Gozanti and a few other ships if I had a good way to get the bade shape worked out.

I’m not sure on the amount of Pepakura Star Wars ships. This Nebulon B is from plans I drew up by hand.

Millennium Falsehood does have a Pepakura Nebulon b in 1:270 though.

Great stuff!

I was always bemused in the old x-wing games when I saw flights of TIE fighters launching from a Nebulon B.  According to Wookie, it seems like I'm not the only one:

"There is some dispute among fans on the claimed fighter capacity of the Nebulon-B. Computer games and the deck-plans in The Far Orbit Project show a hangar in the forward hull, with a launch aperture in the starboard flank, but there seems to be no such opening on the model used in the movies. Other depictions in the computer games show starfighters docking and launching via an opening in the thin connection between the superstructure and drive bay.

However, the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, seemingly the source which first introduced the Nebulon-B's starfighter capability, makes no mention of internal hangars. The text simply says that: "The escort frigate has the capacity to carry up to two squadrons of starfighters into battle. In addition, the ship has docking fixtures to accommodate ships of up to medium freighter size" (p. 60). Since The Empire Strikes Back shows the "docking fixtures" to be external hardpoints on the spar between the prow superstructure and engines, it is possible that the fighters could also be carried on a rack along the spar, in the manner of Carrack-class cruisers, assault frigates, and FarStar."

Somehow I doubt an external rack would be able to carry it's suggested full complement of 24 TIE's, plus landing/boarding shuttles though...
