gribble 99 Posted November 4, 2012 Not sure if anyone has noticed, but FFG have updated the description page with a (low-res) image of the back of the map: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=224&esem=1 And the below is a high-res image of the front, which looks like it was posted by the artist (note: the post may contain spoilers for the adventure, as may the map): http://jakemurrayart.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/the-krayt-fang.html Now if only we could get a higher res image of the character folios… that's probably the thing about this set that is intriguing me the most! Donovan Morningfire 10,200 Posted November 6, 2012 Cool find on the larger-scale map. Given how common the YT-1300 is, having another ship layout to use never hurts.
IG-58 79 Posted November 6, 2012 AWESOME FIND, dood!! That answers the question I had on a posting elsewhere: FFG is indeed using the now more-or-less "official" deckplans for the YT-1300 series (YT-1300FP in this case). All the rooms & holds are spot-on, even down to the five one-man escape pod hatches in the engine room - though it looks like "Hold 3" has some modifications (I can guess). That makes a Gearhead happy indeed. Suh-weet. And Tatooine village/building maps. And dice. Actually, the humble little Beginners' Box has me more excited than any other aspect of the FFG franchise, including X-Wing Wave Two and the (conjectural) Wave Three. Starters rock, plain and simple - and this one is no exception!
Ki_Ryn 0 Posted November 7, 2012 Jake Murray does beautiful work. What a dream job it would be to do starship interiors for a product line like this! I hope that the quality is indicative of the series as a whole. ~Ryan Wolfe ( 0-hr.com )
Jeffrywith1e 21 Posted November 17, 2012 That looks like a Wampa sleeping on the floor. LOL
That Blasted Samophlange 6,923 Posted November 18, 2012 I'm less concerned about the Wampa skin rug, and more concerned about the laundry hanging on the wire just behind the cockpit.. Anybody notice any other details? P.S. There's also a protocol droid missing their left leg lying in the one cargo bay.. a bunch of broken droids it looks like. bandersnee 50 Posted December 1, 2012 I just hope the scale of the ship is compatible with the WotC miniatures. I can think of a ton of fun uses for this map.

If you look at the components together, the map seems to be like a "gatefold;" assuming the booklets are appr. 8 1/2 x 11, then the map is just about 11 x 16 or so. Not nearly big enough for 30mm figures. I'll be interested to see if it looks like my prize collection of Micro Machines battle pack minis will fit, however! They're roughly half the size of WotC minis.
Glacialis 0 Posted February 13, 2013 Bumping this because it has an excellent link to the higher resolution map in the first post. Anyone know where escape pods might go? Does this variant of the YT-1300 even have them?

Does this variant of the YT-1300 even have them? Yes. According to the Haynes YT1300 manual (which has this variant - it's the Millenium Falcon's direct sister ship, not a standard YT1300)… There are some one-man small pods in the floor of the engineering room. (see those squares in the center aft of the engine room? Those) The haynes manual presents 4 YT-1300 plans, but notes a dozen more variants. Make note of the hexagonal tube crossing the centerline… Directions given as traditional clockface; Fore is 12, Starboard 3, Aft 6, and port 9. Note that aft engineering/cargo is actually 1/4 of the outer ring (and about 1/5 of the total volume), and has a cargo lift in the floor in all 4 examples shown with internal plans. Only two models have full galley facilities - the YT-1300p and the Milenium Falcon.
mrbatz11 0 Posted February 14, 2013 OP great find. Thanks for sharing. @bandersnee, while not the same deck plan check out starwarsmaps.blogspot.com, suitable for WotC minis.
deeahchur 7 Posted February 17, 2013 I appreciate the hi-res ship map. Those are trophies, not laundry. Remember, the Krayt Fang was a slaver ship before the players steal it from Trex and his crew.

The 1300fp has a different galley and forward hold config, as well as a portside escape pod.
