Warchitect 0 Posted October 18, 2012 So when one sets up, they can angle the fighters in any direction? or does one need to stay on the 90 degree grid, only angling between that and 45 degrees when moving?
ziggy2000 169 Posted October 19, 2012 There is no grid. You can set up your ships at any angle. Part of the beauty of the movement in this game is that, because of the collision/overlap rules, and because of inevitable miniscule error, you will be forced out of the perfect 45/90 degree facings that the maneuver templates present. It's fun.
dandirk 232 Posted October 19, 2012 Standard rules state that in basic matches, all fighters start anywhere behind the "1" firing range line (from edge of map). You can place them at any angle as long as the base does not touch or cross the "1" firing range line. Not a bad idea if you want to essentially do a move the ship is not able normally, say a hard 1 turn… you could setup at angle and use a slight 1 turn and end up basically in the same place and position.
