Innskip 0 Posted October 14, 2012 Hi! A simple question just to ensure my understanding of damage - a critical hit counts as 1 damage point plus the card effect not just the critical effect? Thanks
Xhyl 0 Posted October 14, 2012 Yes, a crit damage = 1 damage (card) + effect
dbmeboy 807 Posted October 14, 2012 Note that there is a critical hit that says it counts as 2 damage. That does not mean it counts for 3 (1 plus its effect), it counts as 2 total.
KommissarK 209 Posted October 16, 2012 All cards you have are "damage." Each card = 1 point of damage. With crits though, you draw the card face up and apply its rules to the game. You don't draw two cards.

Also it did seem off flying around with 2 shield 1 hull and 5 crit cards (one was 2 damage to the hull)
radiskull 39 Posted October 16, 2012 Yep, p.13 of the rules specifies that each card counts as 1 damage.

A lot of the special effect damage is not even necessarily effective (it may shut down an elite pilot skill or a secondary weapon which you don't even have on that ship) so you would be luckier to get a crit pretty often!
