secondary weapon and obstruction quistions

Recommended Posts

Hey guys need 2 questions answered really quick.

1 Do ships count as obstructions when blocking another ship u wish to fire at? IEmy friends luke is blocking the shortest path in front of his wedge to my marik stel, we checked the rules and cant find anything specific on the ships but weve been assuming they were obstructions, now however we arent so sure.

2 my friend is asking about the secondary weapons, when firing a secondary weapon thru an obstruction such as an asteroid, does the defender get the obstruction defense bonus dice?

just thought of another, do multiple obstacle bonuses stack? IE 2 asteroids between the attacker and defender, i know this isnt likely to happen but we like to think ahead lol.

THx guys

1st ships dont count as obstructions, you just cant shoot at each other if the bases touch. 2nd Yes secondary weps firing through astroids count as gettin +1 to the evade dice

Xploiter is right, on page 20 of the rulebook when it discusses firing through obstacles it doesn't specifically say primary weapons, so it is safe to assume that the bonus defense die for the defender is granted regardless of what weapon the attacker uses.

Nobody's answered the last question by Yagyu, but I'm pretty sure the defense bonus from obstacles doesn't stack if there are multiple obstacles in the way.

Page 20: "If any part of the range ruler between the two ships overlaps an obstacle token, the attack is obstructed."

So right there we see that whether it goes through multiple asteroids or a single asteroid, you simply declare the attack as obstructed. There is no text that suggests you can get obstruction 2x.

Page 20 continues: "Because of this obstruction, the defender rolls one additional defense die during the "Roll Defense Dice" step of the attack."
