Suka044 1 Posted October 10, 2012 Hey I've been looking around where to buy core set or tell my friends and others who want to get into the game and no one has it and can't order it. All the hobby stores can't get it the FFG shop is sold out the only place is eBay. This game just came out what's going on?
Ser Folly 27 Posted October 10, 2012 Proper marketing strategy by FFG. They sold the first few hundred copies at Gencon (months before the actual release) in some 5 minutes after the con opened.

Malgamus 1 Posted October 10, 2012 You can get copies online at stores such as Cool Stuff Inc. www.coolstuffinc.com/p/Board%20Games/Android%3A+Netrunner+Core+Set/Acc-FFGAndroidNetrunnerCoreSet/#Android:%20Netrunner%20Core%20Set

Just need to arrive and get shipped out to distributors, stores etc. Get your orders in now with your store so they know how many to bring in. This one is selling even better than LotR did. Glad I already bought two.
Ser Folly 27 Posted October 10, 2012 But is it just me who was so intrigued by the coverage on FFG HP that I felt like I desperately have to own a copy. Bordering on addictive behaviour. I even looked for a game store in Edinburgh Scotland on a trip entertaining the hope that distribution in UK might have started before Germany. Is there any other reason for this run on copies of A:NR than the one which spellbound my unworthy self?

Because it's one of the two best card CCGs ever? (The other being Vampire: The Eternal Struggle). I don't think FFG had any idea how popular this game would be… I still have my original NR cards, and had recently dug them out and been planning to create a few constructed decks for play with friends when I heard about ANR. But is there still such a large active community for the original NR? As I understand it it is quite old and you have to be about my age (mid thirties) to know it. As it were I don not know it which leads me to the question whether it was published in Europe back then.

It was released in Europe back then, I distinctly remember seeing the game in a local game store (in 96-97). Alas, I was playing M:tG at the time (not competitively) and definitely didn't have the budget to play NR as well (I was in high school - I'm not quite 30). I know players of the CCG who took to the LCG.

Suka044 1 Posted October 11, 2012 V:TES was a pretty good game if you could get a group to play. if you only had 1 or 2 people it was rather dull. to bad they went under though. i think i still have a giovani deck in a box somewhere

kmedlinnc 7 Posted October 15, 2012 My FLGS sold out their 5 copies in one day (afternoon really) and then one has not hit the shelves since because of all the special orders. It's crazy popular. I got my 2nd from CSI and there are other e-retailers that can likewise get you hooked up.

Adders Jnr 0 Posted October 17, 2012 I was lucky enough to have bought the core set just before they sold out from Infinity Games and have been enjoying the game with my 12 year old son. He loves the game so much that he wants a core set for Christmas. I wonder if the reprint will be in retail outlets in time for the holiday season? It will be here well before that as it is on the way now, usually takes a few weeks depending on where the printer is located. Just make sure you get a copy when they are as it might sell out again before the holidays.
Mejis 2 Posted October 17, 2012 They don't seem to have sold out in Melbourne, Australia, so if you're out this way they you can probably still grab a first print edition.

I will keep a look out for it hitting the shops again and (maybe) get 2 sets, just to be on the safe side

Seriously? I ordered 2 Core sets on the 16th (early morning) from coolstuffinc and when I ordered them, there were 20+ in stock. They are on their way now, I'm glad I got them when I had the chance! *PHEW! I feel like a lucky man!
Malgamus 1 Posted October 19, 2012 The reprint is listed for October 2012 on the Upcoming page so it should be back in stock soon. I'm glad to see it selling so well now I just need it to get a bigger audience near me. I'll be hitting the local shop again this weekend to demo for anyone willing.
