Recurring credits

Recommended Posts

Installed cards with the recurring credit symbol replaces their credit value, after having been used, at the start of it´s player´s turn. But are these recurring credits also placed on the card when it is installed or do you have to wait untill your next turn before using them?

I skimmed through the rulebook to try and find out but didn´t come to a conclussion one way or the other.

At least among my gaming group, we handle recurring credits by placing them on the card at the time it comes into play, then flipping them over to the advancement side when they're used instead of removing them.  That way they're on the card at all times, and just get flipped back at the start of the next turn.

This is why my groups do as well.  Keeps everyone informed.

I really like this idea.  I will be using it from now on.

Good idea about turning the credit tokens.

We also played it like the recurring credits appeared for use immediately. However I haven´t found anything, in the rules, saying explicitly when the credits appear for the first time.

The only reference I was able to find simply says they get refilled at the start of the turn (which could also be when they are first put on the card).

Would be nice to have the presumption of placing the credits immediately, backed up by a rules quote

Page 30:

"Credit, Recurring (>): A credit that, when spent, returns to its host card at the start of that player’s next turn. A player can only spend recurring credits as instructed by their host."

So it's treated as though the card said "Gain 2 credits.  P.S. Only spend them like this and if you do spend them, get them back next turn."

So you gain them right away.

I really like this idea.  I will be using it from now on.

I keep my credits on my ID card so, when playing my NBN deck, I use brain damage tokens to represent those two recurring credits lest they get confused with my actual credit pool. That also allows me to say, "…because the Corp doesn't need brains" when I tell my opponent what I'm doing.
