Do you use the counters?

I don't mind the click track.

Person whose turn it's NOT.  No counter on the track.

Person whose turn it's on.  Put the counter on the track at your number.  3 or 4.  This works even if you have to get up from the table for a break.

 

Problem is I have a toddler in the house and if he's around things can "accidentally" get knocked around.  In those cases having beads is a good idea.  If you have a total of 4 beads it doesn't matter if things get knocked around a little you still have 4 beads.

That's pretty cool - I love the idea that you have your criminal gang with you when pulling Bank Jobs etc.

 

Yeah, that is definitely clever and cool.

 

I use all the tokens from the box set, because it's unambiguous what they are -- if things get knocked around there's no question as to "what was this again?", and it's easier to teach new players with. I even use the click tracker and card, if I take any length of time at all to decide on actions in the middle of the turn, so neither me nor my opponent forgets what click I was on.

 

(I put the click tracker on the space corresponding to what action I am ON -- it's on 1 at the start of the turn, 2 after I have spent 1 click, etc. My friend who I play the most with puts his click tracker on the space corresponding to the action he JUST COMPLETED, meaning at the start of the turn it isn't on his card, and he never places it in space 4 of the Runner track or space 3 of the Corp track as when he has completed those actions his turn is over. Which bothers the hell out of me, and he admits makes less sense, but he just cannot get used to doing it the other way.)

They don't travel particularly well, but at home I'm using b&w Go stones for my credits and advancements.  What I'm finding I really like is using my set of Looney / IceHouse pyramids for turn counters and persistent credits on cards.  I make a stack of clear pyramids in descending size, with a small purple or blue one at the center.  Resembles layers of ice protecting an agenda at the core…. I use the counters, but I just flip over recurring credits when they're used to the advancement token side as opposed to tossing them back in the pool, and I like to use generic tokens on each of the click tracker spaces and just slide them off when I take an action, as it's much clearer then as to how many you have.

The click tracker is a little confusing because there are so many ways youcan use it.  I do try, though and I'm still trying to figure out what the best way is to do it.

 

I use all of the other tokens though.  I don't have the problem with the credits that others have.  I especially like the conveniene of turning credits into advancement tokens just by flipping them.  I like the look and feel of the cardboard chits and I'm too lazy to tote glass beads around with my games.  The cardboard fits nicely into mini ziplock bags and they make no noise when you rattle them around.
