Ixamos 0 Posted September 11, 2012 I just got myself a RCS just a few days back and started playing it with some friends. I absolutely love it and decided to expand my army to at least 200-250AP to make it an competitive enjoyment feel to the game. These are the stuff that I'll be getting .. OZZBBQ SquadMedium Walker setSpec Ops Rangers setGrimm ReapersTank BusterMCW M3 setand maybe an Allied Hero pack. Will it be enough to make a decent 200-250AP (including my RCS) or will it be overkill to get that many units?
Jiltedtoo 1 Posted September 11, 2012 That is a good setup. If you are playing WarFare or Tactics you may want to consider a Boss Squad. Otherwise, pick up the expansions as they came out in time to get the additional heros.
Ixamos 0 Posted September 11, 2012 I was thinking of removing the BBQ squad since i already got Hell Boys, will replace it with CORPS heavy squad to assist with Steel Rain and also thinking of getting The Priest as well.
bob10182 6 Posted September 11, 2012 NCO command squad is a lot of fun and qutie deadly. I always have fun with those guys.
Ixamos 0 Posted September 11, 2012 After scouting around, I have decided to build a 250AP Allied army. Here's my list. OZZ-117RhinoJohnny One-EyeCorps OfficersCrack ShotsGrim ReapersTank BusterHell BoysThe HammersSteel Rain This is my very 1st build so I am not sure how competitive it will be since I am kinda preparing for a tournament this November. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks Cheers.
??! 0 Posted September 12, 2012 While the army list looks good, I'm quite sure that it's 261 points so it won't be accepted in a 250 point tournament. To bring it to 250 points, you could either leave out Jonny One-Eye (although that would leave the Hellboys without a hero) or leave out the Crack shots and exchange the Steel Rain for a Mickey. At least, that's what I thought of after just a short look at the list. I'm sure that there are other options, depending on the units you have and the units you definitely want to play. Yes sir, u are correct on the points, it's 261AP -- I didn't see that. I always thought of putting Corps Officers together with Steel Rain, they work well together. I will have to try-out your recommendation and see how the army works. Mostly, I guess I will be expecting tons of AXIS players and just a few SSU players, but I am more afraid to go up against an AXIS player
??! 0 Posted September 12, 2012 Here are two other suggestions that only include units you already have.Option 1:OZZ-117RhinoJohnny One-EyeCorps OfficersGrim ReapersTank BusterHell BoysDeath DealersSteel Rain Option 2:OZZ-117RhinoJohnny One-EyeCorps Officers13 FoxtrotGrim ReapersDeath DealersHell BoysThe HammersSteel Rain As you see, both options still include the Steel Rain and the Corps Officers. Number 2 even includes 13 Foxtrot, the artillery spotters that work well with Steel Rain. While the Death Dealers are nothing special and I don’t play them on a regular basis, they are a cheap squad and fill the last remaining points – plus you actually have them. Ixamos 0 Posted September 12, 2012 Thank you sir. Really appreciate it alot. I think I will go with option 2 army list. Btw, I do not really need Tank Busters?
felkor 74 Posted September 12, 2012 Ixamos said: Thank you sir. Really appreciate it alot. I think I will go with option 2 army list. Btw, I do not really need Tank Busters? Not with Death Dealers, Hammers, and Steel Rain in your list. You have lots of anti-tank options in there.
felkor 74 Posted September 12, 2012 I'm not sure what this would do to your points, but I'd probably take the Priest instead of Johnny One-Eye. The Priest with The Hell Boys is a great combo - Fast plus Agile means they can move like crazy around the board. And as you don't have limited-ammo infantry, Johnny One-Eye's "Badass" skill would not get used.
Ixamos 0 Posted September 12, 2012 I have calculated the AP points after removing Johnny One-Eye and adding in The Priest, it's total is 251AP.

??! 0 Posted September 13, 2012 Ixamos said: Btw, I do not really need Tank Busters? Don't get me wrong, the Tank Busters are a good squad. You just had to get rid of something to get your army down to 250 points, and the Tank Busters are an expensive squad. Plus, as felkor pointed out, you have some anti-tank options, especially in the Steel Rain. A sustained attack with its rockets should make short work out of almost everything. As felkor suggested including the Priest instead of Jonny, here's yet another minor variation of your list: OZZ, Rhino, Priest, Grim Reapers, Tank Busters, Hellboys, Corps Officers, Blackhawk, Steel Rain. They should add up to 249 points. Again, the Blackhawk is only there to fill the last points, not because of its great abilities.
Ixamos 0 Posted September 13, 2012 Thanks for the variant armies that you guys came up with for me. If u guys don't mind, can u come up with a 300AP Allied army build for me with the stuff that I already got, just in-case I might need it in the future tournaments with 300AP. Thanks yet again. ??! 0 Posted September 14, 2012 A 300 point army? That's easy - just take everything you have! Okay, let's stay serious. If I consider the units in your army list plus the units you ought to have because they are included in the RCS, your best option for a 300 point army probably is OZZ, Rhino, Tank Busters, Hammers, Grim Reapers, Corps Officers, Priest, Hellboys, Death Dealers, Steel Rain, Blackhawk. They should add up to 298 points.
Ixamos 0 Posted September 14, 2012 Just played a few games with my friend earlier using only units from the RCS, and I feel AXIS is just too overpowered, please correct me if im wrong. Also I feel Rhino together with The Hammers are just weak, or maybe perhaps Im just using the wrong strategy with that squad.
??! 0 Posted September 14, 2012 If you are using only the units from the RCS in a simple "kill-them-all" game, the Allies will indeed have a hard time winning because they lack units with ranged combat abilities. You'll have to use every cover available and try to outmanoever the Axis or you will be gunned down immediately. As soon as you add other allied units to your pool, the Grim Reapers for example, the game becomes much more balanced. Concerning Rhino and the Hammers, you will have to make use of their Movement value of 2 and their jump ability to get into close combat as soon as possible. Try to attack walkers, squads that can't retaliate or squads that can retaliate with only a few dice. Another option is to add Rhino to the Grim Reapers or Tank Busters so that the squad can use Rhino's Berserk ability in ranged combat.

In all my games, I always get out-gunned by the AXIS player and I always do not use the "jump" ability. I feel that OZZ will fit nicely with the Grim Reapers. Note to self, must always use the "jump" ability

??! 0 Posted September 16, 2012 What about the even "walker heavier" (Does this even exist in English?) army OZZ, Priest, Corps Officers, Hellboys, Grim Reapers, Blackhawk, Steel Rain, Rattler, Wildfire, Mickey? It should be 300 points even.
Ixamos 0 Posted September 16, 2012 Nice.
