Miko 3 Posted June 27, 2012 Hello everyone I’m Miko, and this thread will be about my Axis forces.I’m from Poland so sorry for my english. Also photos was taken with my phone so they aren’t great. I will not start with my miniatures, but with board. I was looking for some game mat and all of them was expensive. Prices for 120x180cm (4x6) with shipping were from 60$ to 120$ + taxes, so I decided to look for something different, and I found a polyester fabric. It’s called Elefant number 22. Order from Polish shop was only 25$ total. It just came to my, so I made a quick setup and took some photos. I still need to cut it because it's sold in 150x100cm format, so my mat is now 150x200cm. Here is my Picasa album with better resolution photos, I will update it from time to time:javascript:void(0);/*1340802830775*/ This is how the mat looks compared to medium mech. I didn’t do anything to fabric, texture and colors are great for urban concrete/asphalt look. And now photos with terrain: That's it for now. Some of You may notice that snipers, Manfred one MG gunner and MG on mech are converted. Parts are from 1/48 Tamiya kit, and Manfred head is from WH40k scout. In future I will post photos of my army (but it will take some time because I’m waiting two months for my package from ebay now).WIP of miniatures, destroyed cars, tank traps, sandbags and rest of terrain. ItsUncertainWho 3 Posted June 27, 2012 That is a great looking mat. Great idea going for the textured fabric.
mgentile7 0 Posted June 27, 2012 Try taking your pictures from a lower angle. They look great but it hard to see them fully from overhead.

Miko 3 Posted June 29, 2012 Why there is no edit?… Few words about making cars. You need to buy 1:43 scale models, but companies interpret that differently. From my observation the best is Bburago, Welly is too small, and Kinsmart is too big. Then just use a hammer and some clippers, take wheels on fire to soften them and make flat.Last step is to apply brown paint with sponge, and wash whole car with GW Gryphonne Sepia and Nuln Oil. ItsUncertainWho 3 Posted June 29, 2012 Your beating up die-cast cars? Here I was in awe of your ability to deform plastic model kits. Nonetheless, great resource and good thinking. Edit button shows up in the grey bar above your post, next to the Reply # for about five minutes after you post.
