R.Fluxing 0 Posted February 13, 2009 In a real Deck building rut at the moment, this is a variation on my current Chun Li deck, where I'm using turnabout with Hybrid Style. General Idea of this deck is to kill in opponents turn, but with the option to do so in mine - reasonable amount of staging area control, it still doesn't seem right to me, so any comments or pointers would be a great help! ::::.Chun-Li.:::: Water/Air 59 cards + character = 60 Foundations: 36 (12x6) (12x5) (9x4) (3x3) 4x Chesters Backing 4/6 +1 Mid AIR WATER 4x Soul of Ling-Sheng Su 2/6 +2 High AIR WATER 4x Lord Of The Makai 2/6 +1 Mid AIR 4x Natural Leader 3/5 +1 Mid AIR WATER 4x Program Malfunction 3/5 +1 Mid WATER 4x The Angel Of Evening 2/5 +2 Low AIR WATER 3x The Gorgeous Team 3/4 +3 High WATER 3x Chinese Boxing 3/4 +3 Mid AIR WATER 3x Shooting Capoera 2/4 +2 Mid AIR WATER 3x Clean Freak 2/3 +2 Low AIR WATER Assets: 6 (6x6) 3x Olcadans Mentoring 0/6 +0 Low INFINITY 3x Lynette's Shop 3/6 +1Mid INFINITY Actions: 6 (6x5) 3x Rejection 3/5 +1 Low WATER 3x Kung-Fu Training 2/5 +1 Mid WATER Attacks: 11 (8x3) (3x1) 4x Hoyoku-Sen 5/3 NO BLOCK AIR WATER 3x Darkness Blade 7/1 +1 High WATER 4x Sakura's Shinku Hadoken 4/3 +1 Mid WATER

squall14 0 Posted February 14, 2009 Your foundation base is too difficult, and you don't have a single 0 or 1 difficulty foundation. You have no defense against Olcadan's Mentoring, Reanimated, or Chun-Li. From what I can see, this is basically a water deck splashing air for Lord of the Makai, but you have enough air support in here already to use some of the cheaper tech cards like Blinding Rage or Makai High Noble. Even Healer or Inhuman Perception would be good in here. Your attacks are pretty good, but I'd be inlined to slip in a couple copies of Omnidirectional Cluster Bomb for utility. A couple of Tag Along wouldn't hurt either, even if it's a sideboard option. Anyway, looks like a solid build, just think it could be faster and more dangerous as an aggro build. R.Fluxing 0 Posted February 14, 2009 Ok after some thought after looking at the advice given I've come up with this - ::::.Chun-Li.:::: Water/Air Foundations: 36 (14x6) (10x5) (12x4) 3x Chesters Backing 4/6 +1 Mid AIR WATER 4x Soul of Ling-Sheng Su 2/6 +2 High AIR WATER 4x Lord Of The Makai 2/6 +1 Mid AIR 3x Makai High Noble 1/6 +1 High AIR 3x Inhuman Perception 2/5 +1 High AIR 3x Natural Leader 3/5 +1 Mid AIR WATER 4x Program Malfunction 3/5 +1 Mid WATER 3x The Gorgeous Team 3/4 +3 High WATER 3x Healer 1/4 +1 High AIR 3x Shooting Capoera 2/4 +2 Mid AIR WATER 3x Clean Freak 2/3 +2 Low AIR WATER Assets: 3 (6x6) 3x Olcadans Mentoring 0/6 +0 Low INFINITY Actions: 9 (6x5) (3x4) 3x Rejection 3/5 +1 Low Water 3x Kung-Fu Training 2/5 +1 Mid WATER 3x Tag Along 5/4 NO BLOCK AIR WATER Attacks: 12 (9x3) (3x1) 3x Hoyoku-Sen 5/3 NO BLOCK AIR WATER 3x Darkness Blade 7/1 +1 High WATER 3x Sakura's Shinku Hadoken 4/3 +1 Mid 3x Omnidirectional Cluster Bomb 5/3 +1 Mid CHECK TOTAL : (20x6) (16x5) (15x4) (9x3) (No 2's) (3x1) 64 Cards - inc Character. I can already see running the attacks in 3's being a problem, but have TA to get them back if they go over, Maybe a few too many 4's in here aswell. Possibly a bit too much blue? Sacraficed some of the tap down ie; Chinese Boxing for some of the air utility cards such as Healer and MHN. Was toying with the idea of Hybrid style. Thoughts? squall14 0 Posted February 15, 2009 Olcadans is the answer to Clean Freak, so it's not very useful. I used to use Omnibomb, but I use Heel Snipe instead because I run pure air. Omnibomb is the next best thing though, just remember you can't play it as an attack on your opponent's turn, because of the action side. For the actual list, the only thing I'd change is a Tag Along for a Chester's Backing, as it's definitely worth having 4 if you can. Anyway, looks much improved. Good luck.
