The new wilding threat upgrade is one I'd gladly add to my 1st edition game. (This would be similar to the upgrade kit for Talisman that was offered when FFG took over and produced Talisman or similar to what is being offered for War of the Ring 2nd Ed.) I'd like too to see something like that. The differences between 1st edition + CoK and 2nd edition aren't that much to justify to buy a new complete game. Also, the original game with expansion has been published only 7 years ago, it's not like buying a new and almost completely different game like original Twilight Imperium and 3rd edition… Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
gixx 0 Posted August 17, 2012 As FFG seems not interested in doing an upgrade kit for 1st edition, i suggest to those with 1st edition box+CoK to use Vassal to get all the content in the 2nd edition. It will require some DIY (printing some cards and the new garrison tokens), and a little modification of the additional map in CoK, but you'll be easily able to upgrade your old edition to the new one. The only other difference is the number of knights (5 in the new edition, 4 in the old) and siege towers (2 in the new edition, 3 in the old), but you can simply mark one of the Siege Towers as knight, or use one of the Siege Tower upside down to show it as a knight.
