General actions in Faith PODs (or: "what I'm missing in Faith of Sigmar")

Recommended Posts

One thing I think FFG missed out on when creating the Faith of Sigmar POD was to include actions appropriate for other faithful sigmarites. There could have been a few cards aimed at Witch Hunters, a few at Flagelants and a few that applied to all empire humans that believe (strongly) in Sigmar.

Especially I'd like some actions from each of the gods that are aimed at the general population, so that the servant might pray to shallya every night (and get some kind of bonus), or the soldier that allways sends a prayer to Ulric before a battle. It could make the gods "matter" more in the gaming groups that do not include any priests (or witch hunters, zelots, etc.) and might add a bit flavour to a character and make the gods more important.

As it is now (in my experience) the players remembers Sigmar and to some extent Shallya, but the rest are pretty much ignored. This could be fixed through some cool actions I believe.

I think it would be great if such actions were included in the future "Faith PODs". What do you think? :)

Cool idea.  As no one has ever wanted to play a priest in any of my campaigns the gods have only existed as flavour and the occasional small bonus from praying at a shrine.  Having something that was the faithful equivalently 'assess the sitation' or similar could be good.  Obviously most normal people in the empire will pray to, or at least respect, every god (dependingon circumstance and need) so they would not need to be too limited. Although a zealot aught to get some funky bonuses.

@OP: Totally agree. The priests, or for that matter the wizards, do not lack for blessings/spells to play around with. I'd like to see more blessings that don't need channeling, like that one in the core set that just uses piety, making them accessible to zealots (and religious fanatics of other faiths).

Actions wouldn't need to be tied to prayer either. just name it for an appropriate god and make it part of religious culture. As the Empire is in no way secularized, it makes sense for a masterful tactical move to be referred to as having Myrmidias blessing, regardless of prayer.
