NEED HELP ON THIS!

Recommended Posts

Ok so, I'm just trying to get a general idea on if this is possible and how it'd be worked into BC. One of the players in the group I'm apart of is a Tzeentch worshiping Psyker, and atm he is wondering if he can take the Sorcerer and Master Sorcerer talents from the RT or DH games as well as the various spells and such therein. I'm not the GM, but I'm trying to get a general view on this and how it would be made to work. I've thrown around some ideas though, but want to hear what you all have to say on this..

Converting sorcery powers is fine, although they will need to be reworked to the BC system and tweaked as your GM sees fit. However, the sorcerer and master sorcerer talents are not really appropriate. With the new xp system BC has in place, a talent that lets you boost your psy rating to your Int bonus (which in turn is far easier to increase than PR) is exceedingly powerful. Too powerful, since a single psy rating increase is already as expensive as a talent can get. Instead, for a sorcerer feel, look into Blasphemous Incantation.

Likewise, the special rules applied to the sorcerery powers concerning corruption point gain etc should not be applied. Simply convert the powers, price them according to their power and usage, call it a day.

... I am little puzzeled. IS the Character in question to be converted from of the games? If the answer is "no" (as I currently suspect) I really would suggest to let it be. The work of a GM can be hard enough, even if you not fumble with the rule system. I did so once for a Psyker player and I regret much of it to this day and till the end of the ongoing game.

Converting Powers: yes, although there's hardly anything worthy of conversion in RT compared to what BC offers.

Converting the Sorcerer/Master Sorcerer Talents: definitely no. BC explicitly uses the same system for psykers and sorcerers, and the Talent is going to be very unbalancing compared to that. Plus, even if it were possible, it wouldn't really be worth it, considering the Talent caps your Psy Rating at a lower level than BC rules allow.

Flesh warp is pretty neat, as is tide of lies. But yeah, the real awesome sorcery powers worth converting is DH. Create Door, Leach Life, Living Weapon, the deceptively wonderful Open or why not the sickeningly flexible Summon Object? In short, if one is looking to convert Sorcery powers, Radical's handbook is where it's at! :P

Euh, I shudder every time I think about DH powers. So blatantly stupid powerful most of the time. I wouldn't bother trying to convert them unless you like imbalanced thinigs, just saying.

And as previously noted, BC psychic powers = both psychic and sorcery. There's little distinction between them in the system. That's why the sorcerer is called "sorcerer" already.
