Recommended Posts

i filmed the complete final match of this years joust event at castle stahleck. now i wanted to upload the video on utube (never did something like that before), but i received the message, that the file is too big.

all i have to do is to split it in several parts probably, but i have no idea how to do that. can anybody help? or any other suggestion how to upload a video of 3,16 GB? thanks ...

1. Download the latest version of VirtualDub (http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/) and the x264vfw codec (http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/).

2. Install the codec, extract all the VirtualDub files to an easy-to-find folder (C:VirtualDub).

3. Run VirtualDub, open the 3GB file.

4. Go to Video -> Compression, select x264vfw. Choose Single pass - ratefactor-based (CRF) and set the slider to 25.

5. Then click OK and go to File -> Save as .avi and give the video a name.

6. Save it somewhere memorable and then wait for minutes/hours/days (variable based on your processing speed) for it to encode and then check the video for quality.

If it's suitable, enjoy your lovely new smaller file size and upload that shiz to YouTube for all our viewing pleasures.
