Knowledge is Power 2012... What should it contain?

Adeptus Mechanicus book...is not easy to do a book only for mechanicus. I think that the best would be do an Adeptus book, with the Administratum, mechanicum and astra telepatica (the other adeptus are covered on BoM and BoJ. The adeptus custodes not fit on DH. Maybe the oficio assasinorum too.

I think that we will see a book for Ordo xenos too

If there's any organization that deserves a whole book just for itself, it's the Mechanicum. They're an allied empire within the Imperium, and they stick their fingers in every pie. Just covering all the differences between the domains of Mars and the rest of the Imperium is worthy of a big chapter. Then, we have things like Skitarii, unique Death Cults, Lexmechanics, Electro-Priests, the specific kind of Scum who manage to thrive in the face of Forge Worlds' harsh justice...

Then, tons of new equipment (the Mechanicum are the guys with pretty much all the cool toys), new cybernetics...

No, there's no problem whatsoever with making an all AdMech book.

Anything that reduces prep time is good with me. Especially something that expands the info on the setting, doing for the Calixis Sector what Edge of the Abyss did for the Koronus Expanse or Achilius Assault did for the Jericho Reach. Kinda weird that there hasn't already been a Calixis Sector Sourcebook, actually...

Ok. I think that the solution could be a book called Mighty Forges: Adeptus mechanicus and their realms. A book of Mechanicus and his history. Alternarte ranks, new implants (maybe revisions of previous it...). New vehicles, weapons, etc. Also a new crafting system could be interesting. And last a full description of a Calixis Forge World, maybe a Lathes guide. Yeah, the name of the suplement could be "The Lathes and the Forge Worlds".

The name will probably be something more dramatic than that. The Flesh is Weak would probably work, some dorky Admech phrase. And yeah, there's HEAPS of stuff they could do in a Forgeworld book. Background stuff is obvious, but as for gameplay, there's the various kinds of Techpriests like electropriests, enginseers and the like, as well as alternate ranks for other classes (Skitarii for Guardsmen? **** yes). There's also a heap of new guns, armour and toys they could put in, as well as, naturally, a hell of a lot more cybernetics. Maybe we'll even see stats for Knight Titans.

Electroo Priest and Engiseers are on the core rulebook. Knighs Titan....well, i thin that goes beyond the scope of Dark Heresy and enters more on DW scale.

There's stuff that can make a decent electo-priest in the core book, sure, but it could do with an alternate advance, and so could engiseers.

Totally agree. I've wanted one of these for years...

Technically, that's what Disciples of the Dark Gods is, it just happens to be a little more focussed than those that came after.

DotDG is my favorite sourcebook for DH, but it's hardly a "sector" sourcebook. I want more Planetary Gazetters, ideally with maps of key locations. Designing worlds from scratch is the most time-consuming single aspect of being a GM, I'm finding, and I'll take any shortcuts I can find...

I do think that we'll finally see a true sector sourcebook for DH in 2012. I know the quasi-official line has been that DotDG is the "sector sourcebook" but we all know that's not true. RT and DW all have their equivalent of such a book and BC will probably get its own. There's no way FFG can overlook our continuous cries for such a book for DH.

There's demand for it, there's money in it. Tell me if I'm wrong, but DH is still the most successful line of the W40k RPGs. So do it, FFG. The Inquisition demands it.

My personal Wish List for DH would include:

 A Mechanicus Sourcebook!

An Ordos Xenos book, specially one that has lots of minor sector specific Xenos races, and or the ruins/artifacts left behind after their (reputed) extinction.

A Psyker Sourcebook--get all the various powers under one roof along with color text and backgrounds and such.

Gimme some Fides Strain zombie mayhem while you're at it and I will feel truly blessed by The Emperor!

I suppose it's too much to ask for details of the Lathes with PC Squats and Exo-Armor and...

right.

sorry 'bout that.

ne'ermind.

I woud like an Ordo Xenos and Ordo Hereticus Book like Daemon Hunter is for Ordo Malleus.

Then i would like a Huge Sector Source book or a bunch of smaller Sub Sector specific books.

Adepta Books are welcome aswell, Administratum/Mechanicus etc.

And here's a new requesty type thingie:

I've been playing around with an old copy of WFRP 1st edition and have found it actually kind of useful for NPC design. All those professions and advanced professions are easily adapted to DH, mostly just with a few tweaks and some tech adjustments. Something I would dearly love would be a kind of "Citizens of the Imperium" (to borrow a title from a totally different SFRPG) with careers and advances for less glorious professions. That Coachman profession seems out of place, but with a tweak, it becomes a "Cabbie"  and I have every intention of using Grave Robbers and Tomb Robbers on a Cemetery World one of these days. Virtually all of the professions in WFRP could be converted over, and a closer, ground level view of life in the Imperium would make for an interesting sourcebook.

Ooooh!

And a "Reliquary 23" book with huge lists of forbidden books (and what can be found in them), heretek devices, Xenos relics and other forbidden goodies, along with fluff and professions specific to the Reliquary, and sort of combat-adventure-archaeology type operations would be great too!

Maybe helpful tables for generating forbidden relics and books and such!

We really do need more fluff on the AdMech. What are their rituals? How do they socialise? How do your run a Forge World? What colours do their robes have, for Omnissiah's sake!

And yeah, a Calixis Sector book would be quite nice.

However, I for my part can do without a book about bureaucrats (Administratum) gui%C3%B1o.gif

Personally I would like FFG to continue books with special themes. These are source books I would like to see:

Puritan's Handbook -  a sourcebook describing well known Puritan philosophies and those more esoteric, Puritan worldview, factions and influence of Puritans on Calixis sector.

Alien Hunter - similar to Daemon Hunter, a book devoted to the Ordo Xenos.

Witch Hunter - book about Ordo Hereticus

Ordos Minoris - a book describing many Ordos Minoris - those known to us like Ordo Sicarius or Ordo Chronos and some knew and fresh ones, also more about unaligned Inquisitors.

Adeptus Mechanicus - Ecclesiarchy got it's sourcebook, so should the Machine Cult, personally I have a great love for Priests of Mars and can't wait to see this. ;P

Scholastica Psykana - a book for psykers, it would be really cool if it had a conversion of RT, DW and BC psyker powers system for Dark Heresy.

Assassinorum - book about assassins and other killers.

Administratum & High Society - a sourcebook for Administratum and Imperial Nobles, more about politics of Calixis Sector and it's govenorship, description of Lucid Palace and Lord Hax's plans for the future of the Sector.

Calixis Sector - like most of you, I would really like to see a sourcebook for the Sector itself.

Disciples of the Dark Gods part 2 - becouse more heretics to shoot is more fun :D

The Vault - a book with descriptions of various forbidden artifacts, blasphemous tomes and heretical lore.

I want a rules system reference compendium. Writing my own, but really, I want an official one. Just leave out all the fluff and all the descriptions of stuff in the other published books, and instead collect all of the rules in one big, fat tome, and reference the page numbers of the original entries.

My distant second wish is a Calixis Manual that collects all known information on every settlement, ship, point of interest, space route, planet, political body and whatnot, in a single tome. Unlike the above, I'd like the fluff in this one, please. But also the page references. Moreover, I'd like all that stuff to only be half the book. For the other half I'd like an enormous collection of handy Create Any Kind of Location tools, 101 Random tables of anything over, under, besides, behind and even inside the Sun. If there's one thing the 40K RPGs really, really need it's GM tools. Almost everything in all the lines is player oriented, and while that's not a bad thing, not even when so much of it is pure bloat and a depressing lot of it is of such questionable design... It's a pretty massive disservice to GMs that the balance isn't just a little more even. At least for a year or so. Seriously. GM tools. They don't just look pretty, they're actually kind of useful. No panic or anything, I have a bunch of old Traveller, Wilderness, Aria & CoC stuff and such that actually have the kinds of GM tools you'd expect to find in a game that was meant to be played. But I'd still love to give you my hard earned for your tools. So make some, pretty please?

My even more distant third and tied fourth, are an Admech handbook and a Vehicles of The Worlds kind of handbook. Preferably covering not just revised and improved vehicle and vehicle combat rules, but containing a wide selection of all the various fliers, hovercraft, cars, walkers, tanks, ships, subs and whatever other kinds of vehicles typical of the sector.

The Definitive Handbook of All Things Psychic, Magic, Sorcerous and whatnot, would be nice too. But near infinitely less nice than the above stuff.

I second this. And to add I wouldn't mind a book about the Halo Stars which could contain more ruins, rumored xenos who had lives there, xenos artefacts etc. and I would really, really want to see some more material on the Yv'ath although I suspect they will be kept a mysterious background feature and perhaps its best that way.

Adpetus Mechanicus all the way for me. And please for the love of the Omnissiah, include Tech Heresies that are not Warp related. Give me forbidden Archeotech, AI, xenos tech, etc.

A Ordo Xenos book would be nice as well. Just to break up the monotony of nearly everything being Chaos related in the baddies sections.
