Supaplex2 0 Posted October 24, 2011 Wildefire faster and better reactive fire. But it is chaeper. Why?
Loophole Master 2 Posted October 24, 2011 Heinrich has Unlimited Range, which gives it a huge advantage.

Gimp2 0 Posted October 26, 2011 Supaplex said: ktj1138 said: And the Heirich is much more likely to take out a Light Walker than the Wildfire. Why? A Wildfire rolls 3 dice, with each causing one point of damage on a hit. That's 1 chance in 27 of killing a light walker in one shot, or 3.7%. A Heinrich rolls 1 dice, causing three points of damage on a hit. That's1 chance in 3 of killing a light walker in one shot, or 33.3%. The Wildfire is more likely overall to cause some damage, as it gets at least one hit about 70% of the time, but the Heinrich gets a kill if it hits. Supaplex2 0 Posted October 26, 2011 I think you wrong.
Loophole Master 2 Posted October 26, 2011 Yes, he's wrong. But the Heinrich is more likely to take out a light walker with his 5/1 attack than a Wildfire with only 3/1.
felkor 74 Posted October 26, 2011 That walker looks pretty sweet. It surprises me how often I read that people never use the light walkers. Unlimited range fire for 26 points isn't bad at all. That walker will be even better once air units come out - it's got quite the anti-air potential. Loophole Master 2 Posted October 26, 2011 Nah, the Heinrich and the Wildfire are a must-have for any army. It's only the Honey and Hermann that are a bit trickier. They both have great destructive power, but it can be frustrating how often they will deal no damage at all.
Gimp2 0 Posted October 26, 2011 Supaplex said: I think you wrong. I think I was wrong, too. I was thinking about the Hermann, and didn't look at the cards to verify stats on a fast answer before bed. The Heinrich rolls more dice, so it will average 1.65 hits on a 5 dice attack, and 2.75 hits on a Sustained Attack. A little above average would cause a kill on a light walker with a single attack. The Wildfire needs to roll average for three attacks to kill a light walker even with Sustained Attack, while the Heinrich needs only two average attacks without Sustained Attack for a kill. The Heinrich also gets to shoot to unlimited range, compared to the Wildfire's range 6, which increases its lethality. The Wildfire is a nice light walker, and great for interdicting an area with its Superior Reactive Fire, but it doesn't match the Heinrich's light walker threat. It doesn't have to, because it's designed for other missions.

The two from the revised core set? Yep, those are good, but the stand alone light walkers, meh. I bought one of each and am definitely not planning on buying anymore for DT. They might be a lot more useful in DW, but we will have to wait and see on that.
felkor 74 Posted October 27, 2011 I really like how the Allied stand-alone light walkers look - I just wanted to make sure that if I bought one it would hit the table. Looking at the Wildfire, I'm pretty sure it would.
