There are two magazines available in most hobby stores, one is called WARGAMER. While they usually have articles on different time periods, they sometimes carry articles on tactics. There are also some excellant books available at most libraries, some of them written by American and German officers of WWII. The army basic field manual also is a good read.

Don't overlook the various forums at FFG -Tide of Iron, Wizards of the Coast forum on Axis and Allies, World of Wonder- Memoir 44.Read through some of the posts on the forum sites. There are some very intelligent contributers on the forums.

If you have a particular problem to solve, such as HOW TO TAKE OUT A MG, just ask. You will probably get several good solutions.

Wargamers are said to have very high IQs. We can solve almost any problem. We could certainly do a better job of running the country than the current crop of politicians. Maybe we should require all office seekers to have taken a few courses in history, and to be an active wargamer.

Well its time to get down from my soap box. Good Luck              Ghengis

I would highly recommend a magazine called Armchair General.  It covers all periods of history, but seems to have a lot of WWII content.  It has many articles on strategies and tactics, as well as insightful information about certain units, vehicles, generals, etc.  It also has a "You Command" section, where historical battles are laid out for you, and you can come-up with your own solutions, and then read about the actual historical solution.  There is also a section on wargames and gaming, from boardgames to computer games.  It's a good magazine.
