dedman2 0 Posted August 28, 2011 So my group (Grey Wizard, HE thief, Initiate of Sigmar) just finished Eye for an Eye and Rough Night at the Three Feathers. I'm wondering where do go next? My two obvious choices are EoN and TGS. I'm tempted toward TGS, but something kinda bugs me about the adventure. It seems somewhat cliche (perhaps it's collecting map pieces like a fraction' triforce?) What are other peoples' opinions of TGS? Did you enjoy it? Are there other adventures to consider? UniversalHead 12 Posted August 28, 2011 Check out our WFRP blog for a rundown of our Gathering Storm adventure (hit EXPLORE and start at Sept 2010). May help you to decide.
doc_cthulhu 63 Posted August 29, 2011 !!!!SPOILERS!!!! Maybe you could run it in pieces? Don't send the characters to search for the merchant but have them encounter the adventures maybe in different locations and not in a rail-road way. First piece could be found from Hugendal when playing the scenario that takes place there. Maybe the graveyard adventure is set in Ubersreik and when the characters fight against Mourn they learn about a noble who is taking part to the ball (so you could run EoN). The adventures are quite linear and "we've seen this before". But with little effort you can mix them up and have a great time with them.
dedman2 0 Posted August 29, 2011 Thank you kindly for the help! One more quick question. In your experience, how long (in 3-4 hr game sessions) are each of these 2 adventures (EoN and TGS), recognizing that there can be great variability in length depending on the party? EoN seems quite a bit shorter than TGS by just looking at them.
doc_cthulhu 63 Posted August 29, 2011 We played sandboxed EoN for ten sessions... The party took about 2-3 hours without the skaven. TGS takes a whole lot of session no matter how you play it.
socratim 13 Posted September 5, 2011 Since I own the Creature Vault, Player's Guide and GM's Guide, would the PDF be enough to play this campaign? What would I miss?
korknadel 0 Posted September 5, 2011 If I remember correctly, you would miss the Storm Tracker. The Monsters and NPCs are in the Creature Vault, and you can download the maps from the Support Page. I am not sure if there are any new location cards in the campaign box. If you are not sure, you can also check the component list on the Support Page. And I don't think that the Storm Tracker and the location cards are essential for playing the campaign. Oh, but I forgot: there are some item cards in it, and I am not sure, if you want to run the adventure without the information on them
