In the name of Profit: A Online Rogue Trader Game

Recommended Posts

You forget the long reach and power of a space marine chapter, further such actions would lead the chapter to think you break the agreements, which means they are allowed to do what they want with you. lol

In the liteature regarding blood ravens, our fleet is fine, it is that we are at functioing at around half strength in terms of battle brothers! a strike cruiser or two plus escort ships would give you some problems.

the agreement as i was told is this:

protection from other orgs as much as poss from my chapter, a squad for protection, and access to a librarian in exchange for info, samples, etc from your journey. In this case the fact that I have not mentioned the iron men is a great concession on my part. Further, if you stop us from sending samples, well a blood raven/ad mech task force after you would likely cause you many problems.

:P

Would it? Would it really?

You're assuming that Felix won't see the logic of my points, and he of course simply faces annihilation. Then there's the fact that you, also, face death if discovered. I face death as well, however my being a non-existent member of a House that wouldn't recognize me as well as a legend in the underworld anyways, have a life to return to, and my rather admirable powers of stealth and deception would suggest i would be able to escape. As an Astartes, you're sort of locked in, and so perhaps discretion is the better part of valour. Really, keeping it a secret would not hurt anyone, and it allows you to change your mind. Telling them may cause the deaths of your entire chapter as they head to war with this heretic world on a conquest only to be met by the 12's overwhelming psychic power, as well as your own slow, torturous death as a heretic for the part you played in loosing Iron Men upon the Imperium.

I don't worry about Strike Cruisers at all. We're geared towards manoeuvrability, they wouldn't stand a chance of catching us if we chose to flee

Long story short, I would sit on the fence for a while yet, since there is so much to be gained by witholding information, and so much to risk losing by releasing it early..

EDIT

They can try to do what they want to me. Luckily, subtle operations are not much in demand for Astartes, and so if i desired to elude them I doubt they'd be able to root me out of, say, the spires of Gunmetal City.

You my Captain are confused!

partido_risa.gif

All of the information is already known to the chapter. Including the destruction of the manfactorum.

All that they do not know is that the iron men are on board.

So, yes I have to send samples, they already know of the crystal, and the only question is when they get some to look at.

btw Timeless,

Did we pick up any of the pieces of those relic land raiders we saw? I know we recovered wreckage of Raven's Heart, but was wondering if we recovered any other wreckage?

Profit Factor vs An Archeotech Manufactorum and endless supply of a priceless material. Hmmmm. Just saying.

We could, however, start picking up the salvage and making trade runs to Port Wander, selling it off to increase the size and power of the Fleet. That could work.

Otto looks someone puzzled as the space marine either asks him to squeeze him,  scrub him, or whip him.  And declines none the less, politely.

And also enough of the pretend internet e-peen contest.  If people are going to do it, do in game tomorrow, we can deal in IC stuff in game.

For our 5 acquisitions, here's my thoughts with our current Pf of 39.

1.  Significant*1,001-5,000* Frag Grendaes and Swords: 35 *common-20, significant +50 Combined +5*
2. Standard*11-100* Heavy Weapons, Naval Shotcannons and Missile Launcers: 35 *Scarce +0, Standard +30, Combined +5*
3. Gun-Cutter and Chimera w/Auto Launcers* and Hunter Killer Missile: 35 *Very Rare +20, Combined +15
I prefer smoke for the auto launcher, but frag is good too.

1 Gives all of our armsmen grenades which are always nice and sword for when SHTF, which will happen.  I still wouldn't expect much of them in melee, but it's better then a knife/nothing.  If extra armsmen upgrades are taken replace swords with smoke grenades.

2.  The shotcannons give us heavy short range firepower, pairing nicely with our armsmen if we use our plasma guns for them.  Missile launchers give them some nice long range and anti-armour firepower.  If you don't like them, the following all fit within scarce, Naval Shotcannon, Flamer, Grenade Launcer, Missile Launcher, Multi-laser, Autocannon.  Stat wise the Multi-laser/Autocannon is probably for the best, but I've got a soft spot personally for the shotcannon.

3. Gun-cutter gives us a back-up ride for when the Thunderhawk is down or not available for us.  Ideally we'd want 3-4+ of these sitting in our hangery just in case, but with time.  Chimera is a solid transport with good armour, speed, room, and firepower *multi-laser, heavy bolter, and lasguns for anti-infantry, hunker killer missile gives a single very good anti-armour punch.  The Auto-launchers with smoke give us cover for when we need to gtfo, or with frags can clear our hordes of infantry surrounding us,

This leaves us with 2 more.  We could either use it on my other idea below to further upgrade our armsmen or spend it on ourselves.  Other options including melta bombs and enforcer armour*if not using power armour for them*.  Opinions?

Extra Armsman Upgrades*101-1,000, Chainswords and Assault Stubbers: +35*Average -10, Combined +5, Major +40*

The stubber gives them extra long range fire good for light/medium armoured enemies, combined with the other one more men will have heavy weapons then don't.  Chainswords replacing the swords give them an actually chance at killing something in melee.

Also did I ever find out what was on that datapad?

the manufactoirum is destroyed, we lost it. Kaboomy!!!!

Btw I never asked the Man of Iron onboard, they revelead themself to me, to survive, I did what I could, then i informed you thinking you would take arms to them. When I told you they where there, I expected all **** to turn loose and survive. It really not go as I wanted, since the Captain actually took the Man of Iron under is wing. (Wish we do have proof of and said to keep it silent...)

My logic is flawless.

EDIT: Is it just me but with the troubles in the lower dec, when knee deep in it?

EDIT 2: We should probably requisition "soldeirs" to use the weapons, our psykers are probably better off with the psystuff.

EDIT 3 : 11,000 Unsanctioned psykers too...

Wow, that is a lot of text you guys.  Anyway, I just want to point out that Getit was not present for the that meeting.  Since he left since he had no mic, I thought I had stated at the start of the meeting that he was attending to his men.  Which is why he did not say anything while all this was going on.  I felt this was better than trying to pretend to know how his character would react.  So unless I missed something, and he was told at some other point, he does not know about them.

Getit

No, as I said you where attending to your men, and I guess going though the information you got recently, so no relic land raider parts for you.

Missionary,

the lib is simply asking to get castigated/whipped in the Emperor's name for his heresy.

Ah timeless,

When we were recovering the wreckage of my thunderhawk after the battle, my char would have said something, given that he asks about stuff like that all of the time in game. Although he would have made sure that any wreckae would not be put next to his Raven's Heart wreckage

for ex.

*info from comp at manufactorum

*info and weap/wreckage at starfort

*carcass at first battle

*wreckage/gear at first manufactorum

*etc

Meaning that he would have said something. gui%C3%B1o.gif

So while recovering the wreckage of your ship you are going to ask one of the crew "are we working with Iron Men?"  Anyway, you were not here, and I did not wish to choose a react for you character.  So unless someone tells me that after finding out about the Iron Men at the Command meeting that they told you, I am going with you have not been informed of this.

DrPersons:  Aren't you rolling a void master?  Void Masters start with a bolt pistol already.

I am rolling an Astropath Transcendent...unless you would prefer a voidmaster

Said you were also thinking of Void, so wasn't sure.  Yea a bolt pistol a much better gun then a las/auto pistol.  Astropath is fine, do whatever you'll have the most fun with.

Also if you guys don't say anything by game time tomorrow, I'll assume thats because you agree and don't mind me using all our acquisitions.

To everyone,

I am going to have to cancel today's game.  I will be getting out of work late, and I am not sure when I would be able to start.  Sorry for the late notice, and we will pick up the game next Tuesday.

Well since we arent gaming this week I am going to make a voidmaster instead.....I was thinking about it and i dont know the astropath well enough to play him well. So put me down for Voidmaster.

Also, I was wondering if someone could fill me in on the group and an explanation of the things i have missed.

Well I will be on intermittenly tonight, so when ever you do get back,we could roleplay the conversation where I ask about the suits of power armor that are considered relics, and we can discuss the wreckage searching? :)

Why are we taking so much npc now and guns?

If I remember well by defualt we have 300 normal crew (bad soldiers), plus tons of guns and power armors from the Star Fort. plus 11k psyker warrior plus a bunch of Mna of Iron...

Guys I think that's enough, I would rather use an aquisition for some tech-use bonus parts, since that's what is slowing me down.

After a while, too much soldier is pointless, why even bother just send more guys...

a good MIU woudl give me another +10 to my tech-use when dealing with ships or systems.
