Maybe I have exaggerated, but I had imagined that Imperial Navy may sell an old dreadnought to trusted families of Rogue Traders for some benefits.

Too Old Vessel: -10% to all repair Tests

Full of Scum and  Mutants: -10 to Crew and Morale (they are not necessarily dead, but the others are problematic), +5 bonus to Repel Borders Tests.

Errata: the correct Manoeuvrability of the Desolator is +5, and it can use Grand Cruiser and Battlecruiser Components

 

If you buy a Carnage from Imperial Admiral, you have bought a power cruiser, old and with many problems.

Before to sell the Ship, Admiral had removed the original Macrobatteries in order to use them in his new ships.

The R-Hellbringer Planetary Assault Ship have also a Compartmentalized Cargo Hold and an Invasion Bridge, so the Space is 36 and SP 63

This ship have little space but I like it.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think these are awesome. I ran an Imperial Reserve Fleet in Battlefleet Gothic and have always had a soft spot for the 'outdated' Imperial cruisers.

I'm thinking to edit the Replicas.

I'm planning a campaign where there is a lost world with a space dock with the ability to construct old vessels...more or less.

The Grand Cruisers and the Galleon are not so old, but the Carnage and company are, so the engineers must think how to reproduce old ships.

So, what could be the real old name of the chaos ships?

 

And yes, I must make some original ship...

The Uonimi.

The Uonimi are  descendants of those first explorers who traveled in the expanse, even before the Imperium.

The Grand Cruisers and the Star Galleons are the newest ships they have, and they are still able to construct and repair them.

Unfortunately they have lost the ability to do this to older vessels, so they have converted the old ships, in order to be able to use them again.

They are merchants with xenophilous tendencies, so they have converted the old Carnage class cruisers in space Indiaman, the great part of their fleet is made by Star Galleon, they have develop the Star Fluyt  (a star Galleon variant) and converted the old Murder in the Star Razee, an heavy frigate.

In recent days they have started to defend themselves from the assaults of the Mechanicus, who want steal the ancient technologies, so the Uonimis have started to construct new cruisers based on the old pre-imperium cruisers.
