$39.95 for what appears to be a hardcover book does not seem unreasonable to me. Especially if it is up too FFGs normally high standard of printed books.

price is ok  compare  that to

$39.95 is very reasonable, but he statd it was 32 pounds, which would be about $60 I think.

so, Andy Chambers joined the Dust Tactics Facebook page yesterday and wasted no time giving a slight insight (and pics of his painted Axis troops):

 

"The Dust Warfare rules have been developed directly from Dust Tactics so if you're familiar with the mechanics for the board game the transition to tabletop will be very straightforward. The addition of reactions and an all new turn sequence are the biggest differences between the two. As a side note I'm also a big Squad Leader fan from back in the day and I've tried to re-capture some of that feel for Dust Warfare (thought not the mechanics!).

I should also add that I think the benefits of IGO UGO outweigh its detriments when balanced off by a reaction system. Have no fear, you won't be sitting on your hands during your opponent's turn."

Maelstrom Games have it on pre-order for October and it won't be cheaper to buy from the US, US shipping charges are generally horrendous and a heavy book, even more so.  Maelstrom currently have a 20% voucher so I could get it cheaper but its still a bit expensive for something to try - I probably will get it though LOL.

So, IGOUGO with Overwatch.  I've seen that somewhere before methinks.  Why not the current alternating units?  <sigh>

Especially when the people I know who would like to see it tabletop playable thought the current turn sequence was one of the more interesting bits about the DT game system...

 

Oh well, maybe they will put up the beta rules soon, at least for the tactical side.

I was hoping that it would stay alternating units . . . not alternating turns.  To me, a player stays more involved and the battle is more fluid . . . if you alternate units.
