barabanus 0 Posted July 6, 2011 Hi, please help me with the following questions we came across during a long play: 1. "Rule by Decree" plot states: "Cannot be cancelled. When revealed, the player with the most cards in hand chooses and discards cards from his hand until he has 4 cards in hand." What if we have several players to have the most cards in hand? Will they all discard their cards, or no one will discard its cards because the "rule by decree" card needs only one player with the most cards in hand ? 2. Can we use properties of a card in marshalling phase that has been played from hand in this phase to get a discount for another card played in this phase? E.g. I played location "Northern Fiefdoms" and payed 1 gold for it. it can be kneeled to give a discount to play the next card. Can I kneel it in the same phase it was played to get a discount for the next card ? There're other cards that requires discarding to get a 2 gold discount. Can I discard such cards in the same phase to get a discount for the next card? 3. Where duplicate goes when it is used to save a character from killing/discard ? I suppose it goes into discard pile, not the deadpile (because we'd have unique cards in the deadpile and in the play). 4. Is it possible for attacker to cancel a challenge when it was redirected by crown regent ? Looks like not, but I'd like to hear it from experts. 5. "Hand of the King" title gives a two-influence possibility. Is it so valuable as compared to other titles? We have so much influence locations in the core set, so it looks like useless (except may be early in the game).
Alando 2 Posted July 6, 2011 1. No one would discard their hand in that case, because no one has the "most" cards. 2. Yes to both. You can use card abilities right away if they apply. There's no summoning sickness in this game. 3. Yep, you're right here, the discard pile. 4. Again, your hunch is correct. The challenge can't be cancelled. Same deal with the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard title. 5. Yeah, I don't think there's many cards in the core set that need a lot of influence, so it's not as useful generally. It's still sometimes useful for small council support and opposition reasons.

There are cards in the chapter packs that can make it more useful (more Ambush cards and a number of events, mainly for House Martell).

The Hand title is one of the most commonly chosen titles in my meta. The usefulness of the Hand goes beyond its two influence, since it opposes one of the more commonly chosen titles and is supported by another. Being supported by the Master of Laws is fantastic, since that title is almost always going to be taken (one less player to worry about is always good).
