Lotus 0 Posted June 30, 2011 Holy...your eyes must hurt after painting those. Awesome work!
Moiterei_1984 0 Posted July 3, 2011 @Lotus: Why my eyes? Mostly my butt is hurting after hours of painting^^ I´ve tried to send ´em in for competition but I´ve didn´t realise that the pics were too big for my email-provider :-/ only as it was too late... Next allied reinforcements available:
Lotus 0 Posted July 3, 2011 Those are great. Your inkwashes & dry-brushing techniques are suburb. Did you play 15mm wwII stuff prior to Dust Tactics, by any chance? Much of your background details (rusty barbed wire, tank, 3D landscape) is very much down that alley. My group plays mostly AAM but we're playing more Dust now, and actually are hybridizing it to a point to get the best of both worlds when playing Dust (3" hexes, etc.) I'm moving towards 3D w/ Dust, myself...more fun. player359820 0 Posted July 6, 2011 Where do you get your decals from?
Moiterei_1984 0 Posted July 10, 2011 @ Grand Inquisitor: What decals do you mean? The ones on the walkers, or the minis?^^ @Lotus: No 15mm, I´m playin´ 28mm about 13 or 14 years now. Like most others I started with 40k and in the last years I finally found my way into the historical and pulp stuff. Although you´re right, there has to be more 3D terrain on the board. More fun for evryone. New pic´s on ya screen!:
DoomOnYou72 1 Posted July 10, 2011 That walker is outstanding. Great job on the weathering and detail work.
Pooflinger76 0 Posted July 10, 2011 yeah dude that is awesome, I love the distressed paint effect you managed to achieve. This model would have been a contender methinks. It looks like most of the entries are german models, which is no surprise, but I hope to see a few allied entries too!
player359820 0 Posted July 12, 2011 I am ripping your Allies off 100%. I could not decide how to best paint them, and yours are really spot on. As for the decals on men and walkers, where are you getting them? I have ordered several of the ones from the Dust site, and some 1/48 from various model suppliers. Moiterei_1984 0 Posted July 17, 2011 I just didn´t send anything in for the competition ^^ For the German troops I use the decals for the Imperial Guard from GW, for the Allied infantry I don´t use any decals. German and allied Walkers got decals from GASO.LINE ... very expensive, but better than the crappy ones from Duststudio. Here´s something new today:
Necross 1 Posted July 17, 2011 They look so great. I'm going to be stealing your ideas on the ludwig for my Allied walkers what colors did you use for the exposed metal on the ludwig? just dark gray?
Moiterei_1984 0 Posted July 24, 2011 @ Necross: Feel free to do so. At the moment I´m working on a ´how to´ for my walkers and the troops. It will take a few days, but at the moment I work is that exhausting that I don´t have as much time as I wished. For the scraps I dabbed a mix of chaos black and scorched brown on the walker, followed by a little bit of boltgun metal. I just used a blister-swamp to do the work. New walker on the battlefield:
DoomOnYou72 1 Posted July 24, 2011 That is hands down one of the best mechs I have seen to date. Great work.
theguildllc 0 Posted July 24, 2011 wow! As a random guy on the interweb tubes I demand, with no authority whatsoever, that you give us a step-by-step weathering article!!!!
Moiterei_1984 0 Posted July 31, 2011 Thank you guys! @theguildic: I just was doing a "How to" for the Community, but my PC has crashed. So I´ve lost all the photos and stuff and have to do all the work again But here are some new photos: thanks to [sO]rice for the Idea with the autumn-pea-dot And here a AT-43 Red Blok Mini I´m planing to use for Dust... maybe when the SSU will finally be released. DoomOnYou72 1 Posted August 14, 2011 Wow man those monkeys came out great and the models definantly benefit from the extra base work.
