Henchmen and Actions.

Recommended Posts

If I have three groups of Gor Beastmen henchmen and one of those groups uses the Beastman Action card "Fearsome Charge" which takes two recharge tokens after use, will my other two groups be unable to use that action until it has recharged?

Thanks!

Technically, no. I'm pretty sure (don't have my books, and I've currently got a headache) that NPC action cards are limited by Type, not by Group.

Example A:

Two groups of Ungor Henchmen. One group uses "Fearsome Charge".  Since the card is recharging, and the two groups are both Ungors, the second group may NOT use Fearsome charge.

Example B:

One group of Ungor henchmen and a Gor.  The henchmen use "Fearsome Charge". Although the card is recharging, the Gor is of a different type, and thus may use the Fearsome charge. as well.

This is how A/C/E pools technically work as well, as each group/NPC does not have their own pool. Rather, pools are based on NPC type. So, in Example A, both Ungor henchmen groups would be using dice from the same pool. In example B, however, the Ungors would have a different A/C/E pool from the Gor.

My bad. Page 50 of the GM's guide says:

"Furthermore, when an NPC or monster uses a special action that has a recharge rating, that action cannot be used by other enemies that share access to that action until all the recharge tokens have been removed. Remember, the GM removes on token from every enemy action or card that is currently recharging  at the end of every round during an encounter."

They work the same.

As shown I was slightly mistaken, as I guess the action cards technically apply to all NPCs that use the card. Personally, as a GM, I've been doing it as I stated, ie based on Type (which normally means fewer cards are shared)
