Kopos 1 Posted March 1, 2011 hi there i've started to play AGoT with the core set and a few days ago i had the opportunity to get some decks from the 1st chapter: war of 5 kings, epic battles, sacred bonds and calling the banners.I got the decks today and here i was, happy as a child opening xmas presents, when i started to notice that i wasnt understanding the rules at all :s what tha hell? So if you guys could help me with this or at least tell me where can i read the rules that support this expansions.... a) what's an epic phase?b) what's an epic battle?c) what's a military battle plot?d) did they change the layout for plot cards? i think that "epic battles" have some of them at the end but they say "epic battles" but i wont be surprised if this is not the case....e) siege cards can be played normally or do they have special rules?f) Kingdom cards...how do they work?g) what's a power struggle plot card? thanks in advance

They are all traits.- "Military Battle" and "Power Struggle" are simply traits that plots can have. Look at the "Fury of..." plots in Ancient Enemies pack to see how the traits are written on plots. - "Siege" and "Kingdom" are just traits that are on other cards (primarily attachments and locations). Play them as any other attachment/location with a trait. - "Epic Phases" are additional phases created by events with the "Epic Battle" trait. All you need to know to use them are written on the event cards.
Kopos 1 Posted March 1, 2011 thanks for your help! unfortunately i didnt catch that expansion:... concerning Epic phases: for example "the battle at the wall". it states "Plot: after the dominance phase this round, there is an epic phase during which each player may initiate a single crown challenge...".So, this card means that a) i have to play it during the plot phase and it occurs after dominance and each player can make 1 power challenge (so 2 challenges) right? now i understand the importance of using responses in an epic phase... thanks! Skowza 9 Posted March 1, 2011 The Baratheon one, Battle at the Wall, is particularly useful imho because it provides draw for a House that doesn't have much and allows them additional power challenges for their power-rush strategies.
