atomic_top_hat 0 Posted February 12, 2011 Just a quick about your second brain getting exp. The book says it gains exp equal to half of the exp you gain (which I guessing means when you gain 500 exp, it gains 250 exp.) However when I do plan on getting the advance, my character would have already gained 7000 exp (Not including the 5000 exp to start with.) Does mean the brain gets 3500 exp to spend when I get it? korjik 688 Posted February 12, 2011 I dont think so. If I remember right, the starting skills of the second brain are set by the rules of the rite. If that is so, then it dosent have another 3500 exp to spend on aditional skills

I wrote the Rite of Duplessence, so consider this Rules As Intended. No; up until the brain is added to the character undergoing the Rite, it is a separate character and thus gains nothing from the Explorator's XP already accrued (the end result is abstracted, but imagine that many of the brain's skills were unusable by a disembodied brain and are thus ignored). The only time the brain gains XP is when the Explorator gains XP, at which point it gains an amount equal to half whatever the Explorator has just gained. As an alternative, if you really want to go for detail, then ask your GM to create (or let you create) an Explorator NPC who will become the disembodied brain, losing access to any skills, talents or traits requiring a physical body or direct personal interaction, as well as all characteristics but Int and WP, as a result of the rite. If you do this, your GM may wish to charge a little more for the Elite Advance package
