Unit Cards

 Hello Fellow Fans,

Just thought I would drop a line to let you know that I have released a sample set of some of the cards I have designed for Tide of Iron units which make life easier while playing.

Those are Pendraken 10mm British Gun Crews. I think you get 3 of them with each gun.  They scale nicely with the tanks.

I like those cards, very good idea, and was wondering if you could post some photos of your collection here on this forum. If you could show a collection of all those units on the board itself as if in a game, and lay out the cards like they might be placed, it would be very helpful to see how the overall game experience and appearance would be enhanced.

If you have any other additional charts for added combat details or damage results, like in other minature games, that would be also appreciated, as I am working on my own set of rules for Tank Damage and wreck recovery, and would be interested to see what a chart would look like, with the  same kind of graphical representation like you did on the cards.  Thanks.

I can safely assume then that the graphics representing the stats are clear and straightforward. 

Can anyone see any omissions here?  Am I missing anything?

I'm hoping to set up some more soon and want to get the basics right first.

I love the idea of Unit cards.  I'll probably print them out and sleeve them so I can have out just the units in the scenerio for quick reference.  What you have look clean, understandable, and sharp.  Well dond.

Great cards, but all I could find on the site was labled "Commonwealth" w/ US tanks.  Do you have more ready or are more coming for the rest of the units & nationalities?  I'd like a full set. They would make it much better, in my opinion for both sides. Kind of sets it up like the Memoir-44 cards with all the data you need for particular units I think better than just looking on a stat sheet.  I like the cards for easier/quicker reference.  Please post back to let me know whats going on with your make ups.aplauso.gif

Thanks, glad you like the cards.  While the sheets are fine, I find the cards much easier to deal with while playing.

I'll be working on some more of these shortly and will let everyone know when they are available.

Thanks for all your efforts.

Would you mind giving me your source files? Then I could create cards for the units which are not (yet) in the game, bur for which I have made stats up for.

Thanks for the offer Klaus, but I plan on making up the custom units on my own.  I have plenty of figures to use.

Don't be surprised if some of the stats are similar though, you've done an excellent job on the unit sheets!

I don't plan on stealing anything actually.  I've seen a variety of sources (yours included) that are good.  I've also done a lot of research myself as I paint up a set of vehicles.  Some will no doubt be similar, there isn't a big margin for variety with the system.

That is correct. This is the main reason why some tanks perform so annoyingly somilar in ToI. Many of the differences are below the level of resolution. Armor that ranges from 1 to 6 equalizes vehicles where we feel that there should be differences.

I agree there Klaus! 

I would like to see a mechanism that can bring a variation to vehicle types, even to a small degree, that would reflect the something that is unique to each vehicle.  This is why I have introduced some 'optional' aspects to the units in the cards.  I think that would be an easy way to add some variety while remaining in the framework already established.

I do not know if mine are good, but they were fun to make. And I compleatly agree with you that the system itself has very few variables to play with.
