Tiny White 2 0 Posted January 12, 2011 Kingdom of Shadows [All Factions Location] Kingdom. After a player wins an Intrigue challenge, that player kneels all copies of Kingdom of Shadows to choose and stand a card with the shadow crest. There are two cards with the shadow crest in play, one is knelt and another is not. If I win an intirgue challenge. Can I kneel Kingdom of Shadows to stand the standing shadow card? Or the winner of the intrigue challenge can only kneel Kingdom of Shadows to stand knelt shadow cards? Kingswood Trail [baratheon Location] King's Landing.House Baratheon only. Response: After you declare attackers during a power challenge, put Kingswood Trail into Shadows to choose and kneel a character with a power icon controlled by the defending player. After I declare a power challenge to an opponent. Can I response Kingswood Trail to kneel a knelt charactor? thanks
Jef2 0 Posted January 13, 2011 You can stand a standing card with the Kingdom of Shadows. You can kneel a kneeling character with the trail.
ktom 598 Posted January 13, 2011 Specifically, unless the card says otherwise, you can choose a kneeling character as the target of a "to kneel" effect or a standing character as the target of a "to stand" effect. The resolution of such effects is not considered to be successful, but the targeting requirements would be met. On the question about the Trail - note that there really is no practical reason to choose the already kneeling character unless you have a real, burning desire to see the location back in Shadows. eloooooooi 0 Posted January 13, 2011 Or he could trigger the Trail only to cancel its effect with Eddard from King's Landing and draw a card. It wouldn't be the first time I see it. Or he could use it to get rid of that nasty Naval Escort before using an important location. Who knows when that may come in handy.
Darksbane 82 Posted January 13, 2011 Shadow Enchantress likes cards in shadow too.
Tiny White 2 0 Posted January 13, 2011 Unfortunately,my opponent wins the initiative and become the first player. In the challenge phase, all of his characters are knelt. My plot is the power of faith, and I've got city of shadows agenda and no cards in shadow At this time,my character Melisandre(Roto) is standing in play.If the kingswood trail response and back into shadows, I can get five additional power token for unopposed challenge to win the game.So......It's so awkward....... It does work. Kingswood Trail does not specify "...to choose and kneel a standing character...". So you can choose a character that is already kneeling. db123456 0 Posted July 10, 2012 if one of those KoS is knelt before someone win a int challenge, player cannot stand a shadow card, right?

I read that card as requiring the winner of the INT challenge to pay the cost of kneeling all copies of KoS regardless of whether or not any targets exist for the effect the cost pays for. The effect just fizzles if there aren't any.
