guest461286 0 Posted January 12, 2011 Why there are five white boxes in front of the Career Transition and the non-career advances on the character sheet? And,the characters can keep advance points and spend them whenever they want.Right? Thanks!
Rorschach Six 0 Posted January 12, 2011 Because you can spend up to that many advances to get that career transition or non-career advance. Correct! Your Experience Points may be different from your Advancement Points if you are saving up to say spend four to transition to a new career, or need five of them to increase a non-career stat from 3 to 4. trystero 0 Posted January 28, 2011 I think I must be missing something under what circumstances would a career transition ever cost more than four advances? All the modifiers I can see (Reiklander Adaptable ability, fully completed prior career, career-trait similarities) serve only to reduce the base transition cost of four advances; are there any modifiers which can increase that cost? Doc, the Weasel 1,777 Posted January 28, 2011 I suppose if they ever print careers with more than 4 traits.
Gallows 234 Posted January 28, 2011 Doc, the Weasel said: I suppose if they ever print careers with more than 4 traits. Can't remember right now, but I actually think the PG states that the base cost is 4. Even with 5+ traits it would still be 5. Perhaps some careers will have a disadvantage of costing an extra advance though.
trystero 0 Posted January 31, 2011 Thanks for the replies. I agree there may be some mechanic (or certain careers) in later supplements that cost extra advances to enter just wanted to double-check I hadn't missed something obvious in the existing rules that might push the cost up to 5.
