MiniatureReview 0 Posted January 11, 2011 Nice little start to your blog. I have a bunch of Dust Tactics articles on my blog www.miniaturereview.blogspot.com Here are some cool things to possibly use for Dust Tactics The AT-43 Red Blok - These are perfect for introducing the Russians into the game. The stats should be pretty easy to do. I haven't figured out what am going to stat them up. Maybe tonight I will give it a go. The Dust Wars Comics - If you haven't read these yet, they are certainly worth a read. After reading it makes playing the game much more enjoyable. I saw somewhere on the net where a guy had made American and German dice like you made. The hit markers on each dice were the American/German symbols. Other neat things are Werewolves, various Weird War figures from various companies. You can make stats for those.
arkangl2 6 Posted January 11, 2011 I plan on coming out with like 2 or 3 units a week making house rules for them. I was never an AT-43 person I liked the models but I never got into them, but I bought some incursion models and some other models to use for dust. I'll have to check out the AT-43 models. I was also thinking of using Warhammer Daemons and Werewolves like you said. Step by step painting and modeling I do read the comic and I was planning on writing about the comic when it is released hopefully on a monthly basis and the novels when they eventually come out. I would like to allow other ppl email me an article and I can post it or email me some painted minis and post them.
Shrapnelsmile 23 Posted January 12, 2011 nice work Ark. I find the painting information especially helpful. What P3 paints work with the U.S. colors?
arkangl2 6 Posted January 12, 2011 I am not sure I am have not really used P3 paints. I was giving example of different paints and I know a couple of friends who are big fans of the paints. The main thing was that if you want to use them to look at the chart and find the closest ones because I was naming only Games Workshop paints since I prefer Valejo and they make equivalent colors. But the main thing was I didn't want to just pitch a thing for trying to make you buy a specific company.
arkangl2 6 Posted January 12, 2011 I found this chart on dakka dakka and I figure I'll post it when I get home from work but here's for you Shrapnelsmile http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Paint_Range_Compatibility_Chart
Shrapnelsmile 23 Posted January 16, 2011 Thanks Ark! I had lost this thread, and appreciate your feedback. As you can see, I did post a seperate thread to perhaps gather a bit more attention to the issue. If no one bites I will do a bit more research and then just go with what looks good this is an alt universe after all. The chart is handy, I just don't think they really attempted to match P3 on an approximate level (which, for purists, is understandable). Sometimes one must simply be near the batters box, however. BigWill 0 Posted January 17, 2011 Love the site. Great idea using Capt America. Is Hero Clix 1:48? Hopefully they make a good one of him ww2 style when the new movie comes out. If not I might have to scuplt,I think the style they are using for the movie is much more army like.
arkangl2 6 Posted January 17, 2011 This friday I am showing off my Captain America models on my blog. Heroclix is 35mm which is the scale the figures are at. reptilebro1 1 Posted January 17, 2011 I like the Blog's. Makes me want the tabletop rules even more to make larger games. Great info.
arkangl2 6 Posted January 20, 2011 Added tanks today for my blog, the sherman and the panzer III, and I added transports and rules, the jeep and the volkswagen.
reptilebro1 1 Posted January 20, 2011 I like the expanding rules. Just one SMALL critisism. Shouldn't the speed be slightly higher on the panzer and sherman to maybe two. These are almost the exact same stats as the walkers, so why take tanks instead of walkers? I am sure there is a reasoning behind this and I really like the idea and I am just trying to assist.
arkangl2 6 Posted January 20, 2011 Well I looked up the speed for all the tanks and shermans and panzer go about 30mph at top speed. So i decided to make them fast so they can go 2 a turn but i didnt want them to go 4 a turn if they double move.
reptilebro1 1 Posted January 20, 2011 That may be my bad, I thought on the cards you had made it had said movement was 1. I believe 2 is a good speed for them at that was kind of where I was going. Something that could move faster as incentive to take as opposed to walkers.
arkangl2 6 Posted January 20, 2011 yea i agree that they should go faster than walkers. This is also why i made jeeps 3 with fast I wanted to allow them to move up to 7 moves at top speed.
