RoB P 225 - "Passive Solo Mode abilities function as normal when in Squad Mode. The Space Marine has free use of them at all times."

Correct, they have free use at all times. However, a part of the power says that it can't be used in Squad Mode. You can, according to the Passive/Active rules, use it. However, that does not supersede the power's text itself.

For example, if a power gave you Tearing with all weapons, when in melee, and was Passive, could you use it when using a Bolter? No, even though you have free use at all times, the power's text is different.

I agree on the intent entirely, don't get me wrong, but the Errata/FAQ should cover this, especially for players who don't wish to purchase Rites of Battle.

Check the Errata here. The Techmarine actually gets the Talented: Tech-Use talent, and an Exceptional Craftsmanship Bionic Implant.

Out of curiosity, was this redacted, or is there a newer errata link? I can't find any mention of that in the (as far as I know) current version of the errata. Any clarification would be appreciated, thanks.

No, it's still there. Keep in mind, this is discussing the Rites of Battle deed "Omnissiah's Calling" and not the core rulebook Techmarine.

Ah, so it is. I don't know how I missed that. Thanks!

I've got a question about the scolastic lore: codex astartes, is it an oversight that it is not a part of the ultramarines advances? It seems strange that the only ones that can advance normally on that skill is librarians and that the chapter that wrote the codex can not.

This is a great thread.  Nice to see that everyone likes the new weapons stats in the Errata.

The vast majority of the comments have been about the Marines and their weapons.  What have people thought about the updated xenos weapons for Tyrannids and Tau?  My first impression last year is that it would make combat too deadly for space marines.  What have peoples experiences been with the new weapons for aliens and how did this change the game from pre to post errata?

Two things I dont like about the new weapons profiles is, only heavy weapons can do full auto, and lightning claws lost tearing. The lightning claw change has my players asking to change thier signature wargear as they can no longer use fleshrender with them. The full auto change, while Im not sure if it is balanced or not, I do know that fluff/story/non rules -wise this change makes no sense at all. Auto guns arent even auto anymore, they are now semiautoguns. If they are picking between balance and story, they are failing… The rules require both.

Wow, considering when the last update was, this seems a little late.

Anyways, I was looking at the HB Errata stats, and I can't say I agree with them entirely. In the game I'm in, house rule is that HB's RoF is 6, which is entirely reasonable. However, looking at the reduced damage I can't say it makes sense to me.

(I'm about to make a comparison between Deathwatch and the Tabletop 40k game, bear with me, please)

In the tabletop game, a boltgun is a Rapid-Fire weapon, meaning it counts as making two effective attacks at half range if no movement is made, the equivalent of a Full-Auto burst from the unmodified Core Rules for the Godwyn (The Errata Rules for the Godwyn make no sense to me), if one treats two shots in Deathwatch as one shot in 40k Tabletop. The HB at RoF 6 would make sense under this conversion, as in Tabletop the HB is a Heavy 3 weapon (three effective attacks a turn). However, the HB is one  Strength higher than the Boltgun (HB: 5, Bolter: 4). Given that this is on a scale of 10, the difference is by no means insignificant.

In Deathwatch, I don't believe that this difference is properly accounted for by an increase in Pen by 1, and an increase in minimum damage by 3. It seems to me the only option is to increase pen and minimum damage, or go back to 2d10 while reducing the minimum, ie: 1d10+15 or 2d10+8.

While theformer would increase the minimum damage, it would reduce the maximum, as it narrows the damage range. The latter would decrease minimum damage to that of a Boltgun, but would be able to potentially inflict more damage than the maximum of the former. These are just examples for the sake of argument, mind.

The HB as originally described in the Core Rulebook is definitely OP, but the Errata rules do, indeed, weaken it considerably. There needs to be some middle ground.

Hi, I also join those who ask for some information about faq.

It does not seem very serious by the FF, as doubts are many and the manuals are full of errors and ambiguities. Dark Heresy and Rogue traders are constantly updated while Deathwatch has had the latest update 2 years ago.

I would ask someone to answer us about the relase of errata and faq.

It's an old game and not likely to be supported anymore. I am collecting on my blog a number of official rule clarifications that have been posted here but didn't make it into a new errata. See me Signature. It's not complete yet though. More to come in the next few weeks.

If you have a specific question and you're lucky, someone will answer you on the Rules Questions link below.

The other recommendation I can make is to regard BC/OW/DH2 as erratas. In particular regarding the weapon qualities.

I would appreciate an answer from FFG themselves, but well yes I looked in your blog a few days ago and I am still collection Information. Thanks for the work btw! Very useful.

Maybe there will be an update, I am still hopeful. :) This should not be to hard to manage I think, but I don't know either.

My english got a little bit mixed up, but it should be understandable :)

I don't think FFG employees read this forum here much at this point. You're better off using the Rules Questions link.

You should always play with the rules that make things the most fun.  Everything in the books are just guidelines.

While I've been coding a little, I thought it could be nice if I would share my errata for the game

but I am not able to do that... cause I didn't find any function for that...

if anybody could help me out here, that would be great :)

For now I can only say that I used the official errata without the weapon-charts and the information gathered by ak-73's blog (which I highly reccomend btw.)

And sorry for the late answer about contacting the support:

I received an answer on 19. May 2014 at 22.03:

Greetings!

Thanks for your message! However, we have no announcements about this product. Please watch the Upcoming page and News page periodically for possible updates in the future. Take care!

well I guess thats it

Are there errata stats for Relic Weapons? Should we just use the basic profiles for weapons they're based off of but with Master Craftsmanship included?

I can't speak for most of the relics, but I wrote the relics in Honour the Chapter to be consistent with the post-errata statlines for normal weapons. I would also guess that the core and Rites of Battle relics are not intended to be changed if you can't find versions in the errata, since everything else from those books was errata'd. That latter comment is just a guess, however.
